Sagacious indeed!..The Boots Freshwood Duo are a firm favourite of mine. The Gillette Tech is a joy to shave with, using the right blade choice.

Gillette are supposedly 'winding down' blade manufacture in Russia and shifting the production elsewhere, so thought I'd stock up while I could

Makes sense. I really like most of the Russian made blades.
I've heard the Indian Astras are good but not tried them myself.
