Semogue have issued a new brush made to the similar design and spec as the LE 2009. For those of you who missed out on that limited edition, this is your chance. If it's anything as good as the LE 2009 (thanks again, Peter), this will be a cracker! It's available now at Vintage Scent.

I took the plunge and ordered one today. Will post impressions when it arrives and gets into the rotation.

Having been away for 3 wks though, I missed the details on Fido's newly launched brush(es), which roughly carry the same price tag. These seem great value for $$$.

FM you used to be a top grade Rooney user now your slumming it with long legged boars.

You just don't need no stinking badgers.

Ant - you're absolutely right! Since I've had my 2009 LE, my Rooney Stubby 2 hasn't had a look in! I must give a run tomorrow! Or sometime soon. Definitely.

That Stinking Badgers thing is hilarious!

Hello everybody:
as a designer of this brush with Matt Dubois and Leon from vintage scent we can tell you that this brush take less time to be fully break in than the LE 09.Its not as dense as the LE 09 so that makes a difference.
I have a video made using the proto of the SOC.See how easy its for it to make lather from soap and cream:

Please, let us know what you think about the brush once you have tried since we are still designing more brushes and we would love to hear your inputs and thoughts. Also just a quick reminder that we have a Semogue Owners Club page in facebook, just join us there.

Mine arrived on Monday and I've used it twice so far. The first night I gave it a good soaking and washing first, followed by another soaking for a good 15 minutes before use.

I used the brush with a D R Harris Arlington cream and it whipped up a decent lather, but nothing special. Once I started using the lather it seemed to die down and I had to whip up another load for the next 2 passes.

This morning I used it again with Trumper's Rose soap and it performed a little better. Again I soaked it in hot water whilst I showered, then used it as normal. This time I managed 3 passes from one mix of lather, but only just. I was scrimping a bit by the third pass.

To be honest, I know that boar brushes take time to break in and I'm not expecting it to be at its best for another 4 weeks or so. The brush looks and feels very nice and it has a certain 'special-ness' about it that I like very much.

When this brush is working at optimal performance, it's going to be truly excellent!

I've been working away with mine for the last 10 or so days and it's getting better and better. I can't believe how this brush produces lather, especially from soaps!

Last night I tried it with some Pecksniff's Fern soap and it was the best lather I've ever had from that product.

It's not fully broken in yet, but already I can see that this brush is a cracker!!

Just a few pics for now as I'm still in the break-in period for the SOC.

Architect,

Great shot! I have the 31064 for reference and I know with shorter loft of say 55 the 31064 would be best.

Looks like you haven't broken yours in as well. My 31064 looks very much like yours. I look forward to your thoughts between 2 brushes.

They really scaled the density down on the SOC. I reckon it's close to density of my 830 judging from those pics. Thanks again!

BTW, my buddy wasn't kiddin when he said the LE was packed to the max! It's most dense brush compared to anything I own. Even compared to my Boreal 977 Pro! I'll have to post when I get some shots.

Ordered one. My boar history is pretty poor, hope its a good un. :?

I'm working on selling my LE. My buddy was right about its density. It's given this thing would be a soap whore and I've no interest in wasting good product if I'm only 2-pass and once over. Didn't even use it.

I reckon you'll have most positive experience with the SOC vs LE my friend.

BTW, why history so poor? What boars did you buy in past that failed miserably?
