May 2021 Acquisitions


Yaqi Chianti and Aqua synthetic brushes arrived today. Listed as "reject", but there's no sign of problems save for a little bit of white showing on the join on the Chianti. It seems to me that aside from the knots being a different colour to the full price versions all is well.
If anyone can confirm the style of knots attached I'd appreciate it. I'm assuming the Chianti is a Tuxedo as it's like my Mysterious Space and Sagrada Familia, but no clue on the Aqua.....
*edit* the Aqua appears to contain the new Beaux Silvertip Premium HD knot - only officially available in the Atlantis handle, which is sold out. Very happy with that

Both these Factory Fresh NOS Razors Arrived Today..A Buffalo Horn Dovo Inox 5/8th..This is an Earlier Out of Production Model.Its a Beautiful Razor.Always Wanted One of these & Dovo Razors Dont Typically Impress Me So Make of that What Ya Will..The C. Myers & Sons Sheffield is a Full 7/8th..Not Including the Spine.It Looks as if it Was Made Just this Morning..I Stole it an All..The Same Company Made KROPP Razors..The Best Genre of Sheffield SR Production,.Grinding & Steel in My Books..

Very generous gift from @Jester just landed ...

Samples of his TDS soaps for me to try out. Rose, Lilac & Juniper. All smell fantastic, to me. I'm a reasonably regular user of Novaya Zarya Colognes and I find the scent profiles to be (unsurprisingly) very Russian. Really looking forward to trying these out; and, yes, I'm well aware there's shea butter in them (being an outspoken critic of that adjunct) but I'm mellowing

Absolutely fantastic lathering, great looking and artisan produced in the UK.


Falkland War 1982 military issued Gillette razor in a nice little travel kit, no bigger than a slimline computer mouse, with case and polished metal mirror, even with the card telling soldiers to replace the card with a razor!
 
Is that an original or a remake..never seen one in such good condition before ?

Ahh I see I thought the case looked a rather perfect..I’m sure Matt does have an original set with the original mirror and case that he picked up in an antiques store on one of the I’d lather be shaving videos
