How about a top 3 thread...

I'll play.

1. Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort. Slick, luxurious, easy to lather.

2. Acca Kappa 1869 cream. As above, with a fabulous almond/marzipan scent. Shame you can't get it in the UK any more.

3. Palmolive stick. I grate mine into a bowl - it's a reminder that a classic, dirt cheap soap can outperform something costing many times the price. And it's easy to find.

If I was allowed a fourth choice, I've recently bought some Truefitt & Hill Sandalwood cream, which I enjoy. Then there's the Body Shop Maca Root............

A very difficult decision and in no particular order:

1. Martin de Candre.
2. Nanny's range.
3. Arko.

That's without even thinking about creams...

Dovo is the same as Gold Dachs:

Also available from Paul with a tin. And here's a thread about it:

Thanks for that. Quite expensive though for only 50 grams. I don't think I'm that curious.

At the moment....

1) Arko
2) C&S Oxford & Cambridge (Valobra)
3) Provence Santé

I think I may be an Arkoholic! I keep reaching for this wonderful, insanely cheap creation!

Love Moos and Cella too, but haven't used them for a while. They may have to get back in there at some stage.

I've found all the above soaps outperform everything else I've tried (with my water) including the triple-milled English soaps.

OK I've had a little tot-up of the choices so far. This isn't at all scientific or statistically correct I'm sure, but top comes M de C followed closely by Provence Sante. Then Tabac, DR Harris, La Toja, MWF and Nanny's all close third.

:shave

I've already found another soap that I have to get into this top 3 (Speik stick). The ebb and flow of AD's...

1. Tabac
2. Valobra & Speik, photo finish for second

ARKO lathers a bit like a vintage Tallow soap (serious). Abundant, thick cushiony lather. Good stuff. I think I struggled to get the lather quite as slippery as I like it, though. The scent is better than Palmolive, yes it is!
