Help needed for a shaving documentary

Who would want to see a documentary about shaving ? I recommend a documentary about 'Tits' , (most) men love tits and were raised on them . Or you could make a documetary about Shaving and 'tits' .....
Is'nt there a blog called the 'shavingtit' or something like that ?

My Dad was born in 1914 and at the age of 13 or 14 in the East riding of Yorkshire he was hired out as a Horse Lad
i.e. keeping farm horses in good nick for ploughing and carting). He never shaved more than once or twice week (died just a fortnight short of his 93rd birthday).

He always said that shaving sat 04.am inthe morning with cold water was not an inducement to shave!

Jones (OH) said that he came to the conclusion in the mid/late 1960s that maintaining a smooth complexion would require shaving twice a day gave up and has had a full set ever since.

No i think its "Hot Babes throwing Merkur's", hot babes in next to nothing, glistening after being rubbed all over with T&H pre-shave oil. Mmmmm

Has "Shaving T*t Blog" not got a good seam for inexpensive Chinese razors ? & of course if shaving documentaries fail to elicit enough interest we do always have our specialist areas involving sticky tape upon which to fall back !

No, sorry. He's the man that wants to spearhead a renaissance in wet shaving.

His approach appears to be to piss off as many people that wet shave as possible.

Genius plan, that.

I reckon until the OP gets more involved with this thread or TSR there's not much point adding anything more here. I'm sure if he's a decent bloke and genuinely interested he'll pop back soon to chat. Just a thought.

Hi all and thank you for the responses. There seems to be a few things raised which I should probably set out to answer!

Firstly, I am not making a documentary about the history and development of razors/shaving. Whilst I'm sure this could be done, it is something I feel more suited to a book or radio programme.

In continuation from that then, what am I making? I am searching for and exploring those personal memories and experiences we tie to shaving. What is it that wet shaving, if anything, means to you. If it doesn't that's fine, if it does I'd love to hear about it. I understand some people may not want to discuss those things openly here, so please feel free to contact me privately.

I have read lots of other forums and gleaned many useful things. However this forum topic has been created so that I might directly meet those people I'm looking for, and in the longer term, give those interested a chance to come forward and take part (be it on or off camera).

Finally, this is not for television or a university/school project. I have recently graduated studying film and am simply looking to make a short documentary about something I am interested in. And which if good enough, may one be sent to festivals and can go on my resume.

I have thought for a while that the world of wetshaving as seen through the eyes of the enthusiasts who contribute to the internet shaving community would make an interesting short documentary.

I haven't a clue about how I would go about such a project. Mantics blog and videos are a rich source of ideas. His own contribution to the encouragement and inspiration of wetshavers is an interesting story in itself. As is the phenomenal growth in membership of shaving forums over the past few years. Look at TSR - now over 600 and climbing. B&B now over 30,000.

The world of Jermyn Street/St James and places like The Gentleman's Shop could all feature. A mini revolution is going on - we may be a tiny minority but the internet is driving some interesting changes. Shaving is just one example.

What excites us about shaving ? Hmmmmmm, I guess the section of sellotaped guys exfoliating themselves with Hoffritz festooned with layers of Christmas patterned adhesive tape will have to be shown after 21.00 hrs if it's on film.
