I have a flutter when I see value, perhaps a couple of times a year
My best result was a 500/1 treble on three world cup qualifiers where three of the big teams had already qualified and were playing smaller teams who still had everything to play for. I thought the bookies had seriously underestimated the underdogs' motivation so it was a no-brainer
A colleague of mine once won enough at a race meeting to hire a helicopter to ferry him and his mates around for a couple of days
In the early 70s my dad put a complicated round robin bet on with a small local bookie and when it came in and he went to collect his winnings the bookie offered him his shop as he didn't have enough money to pay him. My dad let the bookie give him his takings every week until he was paid
