Cold Blade Soaking

Might be late to the game, but I've only just come across the idea of soaking the razor and blade in cold water. Think the science is that hot water causes expansion so can adversely affect smoothness.

Not sure how much that really makes a difference, but the cold metal against my warm face does feel good.

Anyone else do this?

Don't need to try it as I know immediately when I forget to run my razor under hot water first. I have no problem with smoothness of the shave (technique) and ALWAYS heat my blade, but thanks and glad it works for you (y)

Yeah, I tend to agree about the smoothness. I never really have a problem either. Maybe for people with difficult skin? Dunno.... but, the cold razor and blade does feel refreshing..
