You can do a patch test on the inside of your arm, lather some of the soap, put some of the lather on the inside of your arm and leave for ten minutes then wipe off, if there is no reaction it should be ok on your face. There is no sandlewood in Arko. If you want the scent to be less strong unwrap the stick and leave out to let some of the scent to evaporate / dissipate . Some people love Arko some don't, you will have to make your own mind up about it.Hi all I'm new here and have a quick question.
I hastily purchased the arko shave stick but I can suffer from dry skin I have read a few terror stories on here about it but what am I to expect,
Also is there a way I can pre test the skin to see what it will be like on my face before shaving?
As far as I am aware I am not allergic to anything however I don't get on with anything sandlewood or strong smelled

Whilst Arko is waaay to fierce for my skin it works fine for many and is undoubtedly one of the absolute easiest to lather soap sticks out there. If you don't get an adverse reaction however it dries out your skin there are plenty of decent balms available which will put back what Arko has taken out.

Yes I found that out I was pretty astonished at how quick and well it lathered even in my hard water area!, I have used other soaps like DR harris and TOBS but I hear alot of people rave about this and thought its worth a try,As with most soap scents it will not last long and you won't notice it after you have applied your aftershave balm, no reaction to the patch test is good, you are not allergic to anything in the soap so use without fear of any reaction on your face. It lathers at the sight of a wet brush so you won't have any trouble in making a great lather.
Strange I was fine yesterday but woke up this morning with a red patch and a little itchy where I out it on my arm so I guess it's a no go for me
That looks like a great idea, hopefully the sticks will work the same as the puck.
After My Experience with Mr ARKO I Just had to Do this Out of Curiosity..I Cleaned My Toilet with MR ARKO & Look at the Result..My Bath & Sink Look the Exact Same..Whiter than White & as White as MR ARKO Himself..
This Stuff Acts as an Abrasive Cleaner because it Sorta Has a Powdery Feeling Once it Breaks Down Like a Cleaning Product such as Jiff..I Can Say this..Mr ARKO is Darn Near as Efficient as Jiff for Cleaning the Toilet, Bath & Sink..I was Astounded at How Well it Worked..Might Even be Better than a Product like Jiff..
It Actually Smells Like a Cleaning Product & When I was Using it I Could Smell a High Bleach Content that I Would Expect from Some Toilet & Bathroom Cleaners..I Could Feel an Abrasive Like Paste that I Would Not Associate with a Shaving Soap..:
There We Have it..You Have to Try Mr ARKO as a Bathroom Cleaner..The Proof is in the Pudding So to Speak..
You Wont be Disappointed that's For Sure..
ARKO Soap Blistered My Face
My Brother @Dave-the-rave Kindly Sent Me Up Some of this Infamous ARKO to Try..I Gave it a Go Yesterday for the 1st Time..I Faced Lathered as Usual & During My 1st Pass with My 7/8th SR I Wasn't Over Impressed with the Cushion & Glide Compared to Other Great Tallow Soaps that I have..o_O I Was...www.theshavingroom.co.uk
