Any suggestions for artisan soap makers in Europe?

Yes, my skin is pretty tolerant so I like the lanolin of "Hampshire Wool Fat" (as it gets called round here, but not by Ratna herself...)

The only soap I've suspected of irritating me so far is Extro Cosmesi Arancia. Not sure if it's the base or the citrus, but I'm sad about it cos it smells divine. I'll probably carry on using it anyway as I like it so much, maybe it was the shave that day. There are lots of "vegan" bases now which perform well.

You mean with that citrus based soaps can be a little more irritating to the skin than other scents? Regardless of what is the base of the soap?

Martin de Candre takes flak for its price, but each jar is literally filled to the brim. 200g lasts for ages; it's among the hardest soaps I've come across.

Abbate y Mantia

Very understated and their Krokos is up there with the shaving Gods

A big plus for Signature Soaps. Londinium is possibly my most used Soap of the lot.

Another MDC fan and as pointed out, ain't cheap but lasts forever.
