Do Miners use it cause they couldn't smoke down in the mine ? or some other reason ?when i was down the pit ..CM or hedges was my daily user...therre was rumneys too but slighty floral for me
I hope everyone had clean fingers!I've used it for years, and my favourites are Gawith and Wilson's of ,Sharrow. I prefer the more exotic snuffs, and have three or four boxes in the rotation.
There used to be communal snuff boxes or mulls in some pubs; the best being in the Lamb & Flag in Covent Garden, on top of the divider between the bars.
Don't expect your other half to wash your handkerchiefs, though.
I'm currently using Wilson's of Sharrow " Africa" strong & moist with a hint of chocolate, very nice indeed.I've used it for years, and my favourites are Gawith and Wilson's of ,Sharrow. I prefer the more exotic snuffs, and have three or four boxes in the rotation.

Nice one, thanks for the recommendation, and there is no menthol in it?I went through a snuff phase a few years ago, tried quite a few different ones. I ended up just using Viking dark, if you're after a strong, moist snuff, Viking dark is your man. It was my favourite by a mile, although I was quite partial to mcchrystals original.
Not in Viking dark, it's just a straight tobacco snuff, no fancy flavours or menthol. Got quite a hit to it as well, very high nicotine. I found it very satisfying.Nice one, thanks for the recommendation, and there is no menthol in it?

Thanks I wondered as I lived in what was a mining area in Wales for a bit , and the ex miners in the pub were keen on Snuff as well. Never thought to ask at the time.we used it down the mine to capture coal dust hopefully in the nose and not in the lungs... very habit forming too
Can you tell me why you like that's brand and is there any particular one in the Fribourg & Treyer range? Thanks.Been using tobacco snuff for a very long time, tried hundreds of them, these days I only use Fribourg & Treyer
