Aftershave products - Do you really need them?

I've never really 'needed' to use aftershaves as I don't tend to hack about at my face like an frustrated, half-blind Orang-utang but have used some in the past for their scent.

I only use D R Harris Pink now, and that's only because I'm trying to finish the bottle off.

Cold water is enough for me, it seems.
 
Unfortunately I'm not in the group that can get away with not using an aftershave - my skin is too blemish prone. So, after the final rinse I always use a little plain witch hazel and then follow up with an a/s splash. I've just bought some DRH a/s samples - I've only tried Arlington but I'm liking it alot!
