I've finally assembled this dream razor. It took some time (~11 months)
I wanted to present this razor to my FIL who was a prominent oceanographer and circumnavigated the globe a few times.
But back in Dec. 2020 the parts were unavailable and then in March 2021 COVID took my FIL.
I, therefore, abandoned this idea for a few months.
But then Brian (at CharcoalGoods) suddenly resumed operation and then Jack (from YPM) agreed to produce a small number of brass caps.
So the ball started rolling and orders were placed.
Coincidentally, I've just returned from my first ever sailing trip...

An extremely generous trade on another forum, who originally PIF’d the long handle ordered the short. They then decided the razor wasn’t working for them and gave me first dibs on it. Being a bit short this month I offered a trade and cash and the absolute gent wouldn’t except a penny! So my Homelike Start has left the nest and been replaced by a Blackland Blackbird! I can’t wait to give it a go tomorrow just need to settle on what blade and handle to go with first!
I also got delivered a few packs of feather blades and my Master Soaps Creations ’A night on the town’ will be here next week potentially as the fedex email says Monday and the UK postal partner says the end of the week!
