Good effort mate - but you remain a pussy ;) - you are supposed to use the LE version of Floid - in the big bottle - the one with even more menthol. If I had any Fine Snakebite - I'd try that in the mix - the nuclear option I suspect. The banter police would give you 9/10 - spelling all correct - it is indeed shite not shit - tae and not to - but you missed the very highest score - because - radge is an - Embra - Scotia's midden - Edinburgh phrase - no self-respecting Glaswegian would use that. Total Trainspotting pish. Well done though - praise where it is due. @Satanfriendly - pay attention. Ha ha ha - - I.
9/10? I'm happy with that!

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Shavemac 3-band Silvertip Badger
Soap: Barrister and Mann Lavanille
Razor: Wolfman WR1
Blade: Vintage NOS Personna P74 (1)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel
Scent: Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve

The vintage P74 blades were bonded together tightly, and the usual alcohol soak and gentle heating were unsuccessful in freeing them up.
A little dispenser surgery, and they are now all neatly tucked away in a Wilkie box; albeit the one I loaded into the WR1.
The better blades from the Golden Era are something else; you just have to gently brush them across your face and they erase growth as if it is simply not there.
The bold Clubman Special Reserve scent was a good foil for the Lavanille soap scent.

A first outing with the newly acquired Mongoose and so a shave themed 'The first outing with the newly acquired Mongoose'

Polish_20200705_223433236.jpg

A newly acquired Mongoose - Stainless Mongoose SE
A new blade from the pack - Kai Captain
A not so new brush - Yaqi Dandelion
A on its last legs soap - Extro Arancia
A quite new balm - Men's Grooming

And the whole concept of social distancing soon disappeared when a pretty young lady swigged her first pint after three months of being in lock down.

The Mongoose.

It just had to be on the list in my quest for SE zen and after a bit of begging on the BST here it is. I had an Alugoose in my past but never really struck by it, as goes the same for most other aluminium razors I have tried down the years. It really comes down to the question of weight, or the lack of. If I was going to add another SE to the collection it simply had to be stainless. Or brass, but I don't know of any outside of the General.

First impressions were very positive. Weighty and beautifully made. Everything fits together in a wonderful manner and it looks thought out as against to 'this'll do'. Purposeful and functional. The handle is the same as I had on the Alugoose and very well made with plenty of grip. No problem with locating the blade firmly and the whole head assembly gives a nice confident feel about it. Screw handle firmly in to position and one ready to go SE razor.

The Arancia is not far from finished but thanks to @Boycie83 another unopened jar remains waiting in the wings. Something I am rather thankful for as I would have been gutted if I'd run out completely. In my top soaps for sure.

The Dandelion just impresses end of story. A wonderful knot in the Cashmere and as a whole; an inevitable bargain. You know you need one. Go on.

It only takes the first few strokes to realise the Mongoose is proving a winner. Far removed from the Alugoose there is a sense of control and efficiency. Not difficult to get the angle right as it would be damn difficult to work much outside of what the angled face allows. After only one pass the results are truly astounding, a second and a third just add to the perfection. Wow, this is brilliant and up there with my other rated SE's. Accurate, smooth and just about any other attribute one looks for in a razor.

A short while after starting and the results are wonderful. No weepers, no nicks and no anything which moves away from shaving perfection. Happy bunnyism and a superlative shave was had.

I am so thankful to the TSR member who made this acquisition possible and in my little world I have found yet another razor which ticks all the right boxes and a few more boxes beyond the right ones.

A quick check in the mirror and everything looks to perfection

And here's the reason for all this. Have some Japanese ladies

Have a happy bunny week everyone
