SOTD : Saturday 3th - Friday 9th August 2019

Sotd - yesterday - Tuesday the 6th of August

Razor - Merkur 37c
blade - Aussie Spoiler (11)
brush - Simpsons Chubby 1 best
soap - MT - Black Beer No.1 paste - vegetarian
post - witch hazel
a/s - OSP - UKWSS tonic
balm - Almond oil moisturiser.

Result - all good.

In my opinion another top Meissner Tremonia soap - it took me a while to come round to the scent - predominately rosemary and lemongrass - but now a firm favourite - as with lavender - it seems to have an aroma-therapeutic effect - very relaxing - it smells medicinal. Like the 'Dark Limes' - it does the strange coloured lather thing - in this case brick red - but it doesn't stain brushes. Normally I automatically would reach for the Myrsol 'Agua Balsamica' to pair with it but thought to try the OSP 'UKWSS' tonic - I'm glad I did - they work perfectly together. Made at the behest of the United Kingdom Wet Shaving Society - the limited edition soap and splash don't actually have any scent description on the labelling but I think it is colloquially referred to as the 'Herb Garden' - which is about right to me. Medicinal - grassy - lots of rosemary, thyme and lavender. Very good. A bit of a bummer if you fancy the sound of it as I don't think it is easily available anymore. I'm glad I got mine when I did. An excellent shave - I wish the same to you - cheers - I.

An OK Shave today, the blade is done, it did last the shave and I could have went again, however, although smooth its lost its sharpness.
The lather was good and enough for 3 passes plus from a Large pea size measure of cream. Whipped up with the fantastic RR400.
The WTG pass was easy enough, the XTG pass gave some audio feedback and was still cutting OK, The ATG pass was similar and I did not forget about the chin area, I managed to clear everything - the cost - a small graze under the chin just as I came up & over, it was not a bleeder though and it was right at the end of the shave.
Some light indication from the block, mainly under the chin.
A nice post shave with the Bart's and Copycat.
Feeling my mouche there are some small areas that have a wet & dry paper feel, not stubble and nothing to the eye but I could feel it.
So a satisfactory result, the blade in the blade bank, the razor cleaned, dried and oiled, I run a cotton bud down the shaft clean the thread and put a spot of sewing machine oil on the thread before re-assembly.
Sitting comfortable and smelling top dollar.
Have a great afternoon All

80 hours of growth to take down. No problem for the marvelous Marvel. A lovely menthol shave and a BBS finish. The only irritant is the nick I got just below my nose where the blade tab is exposed from the head. Nothing a bit of alum and some swearing couldn't sort though.

Hope you're all well and we're half way to the weekend!

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney 3/3 Porcelain Finest (26/59)
Tcheon Fung Sing Bergamotto Neroli shaving soap
Weber DLC/U2V1 Brass
Wilkinson 'Light Brigade' (9)
Floris Elite aftershave (vintage)

This new soap made by far the best lather of the three orange-scented soaps I have tried this week. It had wonderful cushion and glide and had a light, very pleasant bitter orange fragrance. My skin felt slightly moisturized. And the Weber and old LB blade left me very smooth.

Shave of the day. 7th Aug

Prep ~ Valobra Glicelanolina soap
Razor ~ Gillette Tech
Blade ~ NOS Personna Med Prep
Soap ~ Valobra Cologne
Brush ~ Brad Sears ~ Gonzo
Post ~ Barts - Lavender aftershave lotion
Scent ~ Penhaligons - Sartorial EdT

This was my seventh day using Valobra Cologne shave soap and a Gillette Tech fitted with a NOS Med Prep blade.
It's been a good 7 days, the soap is outstanding both in the rich lather it produced and the great post shave feel it gives me, leaving my skin soft and supple.
The Tech is a great razor when paired with the right blade and never failed to give me a very good shave.
The last couple of months I have been using just my DE razors and my SE's have taken a back seat but this will change tomorrow when I bring out my latest acquisition to my SE stable, all will be revealed tomorrow! :)

Have a great evening folks........P.
