These are not problems Barry, buy a Fatboy & buy more Tabac! Both wonderful things and a must for every collectionMorning shave.
Baxters of California Face Wash, bloom water.
Tabac Soap.
Semogue 620.
Rockwell 6C (plate 3).
Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow.
Thayers Witch Hazel (unscented).
Tabac Aftershave.
Another very early shave. Reached for the 6C but otherwise the set up was pretty much the same as yesterday. So an opportunity to compare the 6C to the Fatboy. The result was very similar shaves in feel and finish. That is - excellent! Both razors are very efficient for me, and they both feel so safe. Two problems however. I now obviously have to buy a Fatboy. And I think I may be becoming addicted to Tabac.
That would seem to be the only way forward PaulThese are not problems Barry, buy a Fatboy & buy more Tabac! Both wonderful things and a must for every collection
Great set up Scott and your description of the 1912 performing a "Toast Scrape" noise when removing your growth is bang on mate.Thursday...
Soap - Santa Maria Novella Crema da Barba
Brush - Semogue 1470
Face lather
Razor - E.R. 1912 (Made in England)
Blade - Gem Personna
Post - Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
Smell - Alt-Innsbruck
I love this soap. It does take a wee bit work to get a lather for 3 passes and it's quite thirsty. It's worth it though; plenty slick protection and a lovely scent.
I hadn't used my English 1912 for a while. It's been lurking in its Bakelite box for too long. Using it again reminds me how efficient they are. A reassuring 'toast scrape' noise as the whiskers try to stand up to it and the blade.
Refreshed and smooth, with the Alt-Innsbruck finishing off nicely.

Cheers, Wayne. I like a metaphor (or something like it) now and againGreat set up Scott and your description of the 1912 performing a "Toast Scrape" noise when removing your growth is bang on mate.
I see what you did there Scott. Very good!Cheers, Wayne. I like a metaphor (or something like it) now and again
The 2000 is a great brush. I find mine reasonably big (that's not what she said) for tubs of similar size; OSP, P&B, and the tupperware-type container that holds my MWF. Broken in, they really are great. As I remember @Blademonkey enabled me to get one of these bad boys.
Semogue 2000
Gibbs No 16
Supermax Super Platinum (2)
Pannacrema Nuavia Verde
Boots Tea Tree Witch Hazel, Talc & Al Rehab Sultan
A bit of an experiment today with the post shave, I have been using talc after showering and thought on a whim I'd try it as a post shave on my face. No harm at all, not feeling clammy or blocked. Everything feels smooth and soft, very nice i fact. Tiny squirt of fragrance on my pulse points and bobs your uncle.
Semogue 2000 is a cracking brush, expected it to be bigger in truth (that's what she said), made for a great lather with the Pannacrema. One small cut, user error.

Sorry to hear that. I guess that's why we use YMMV a lotHi Chris,
I've used it a couple more times but sad to report things haven't improved.
Cheers
