The Fleming Bond novels were much different to the films, in tone, presentation, characterizations and incident. A few of the 1960s Connery Bond films were more similar to the books, but even they were not carbon copies of the stories from the books. There were certain things that the film producers changed to make the films more "cinematic". In most cases, the only similarity between the novels and the respective films were their titles. This was even more apparent in the films made during the 1970s and later.View attachment 90125
During the first series of lockdowns started to explore the Fleming books. Just made it to the short stories. Really enjoying the Bond stories aside from the films.
A rising in 2016? I must have fallen asleep! Seriously, looks interesting. This is pretty heavy going but we hear so much about the 2016 rising but the death toll escalated rapidly during the civil war.

Listening to on audiobook, narrated by the man himself, Anthony Bourdain, very good Indeed!
Paul.
I was shocked and was really sad to hear he had committed suicide a few years ago, not totally shocked, he was a troubled man, looking at his life I strongly believe he had a bipolar disorder and a very addictive personality.I'm amazed he lasted so long!
He did eat some things that would turn my stomach for sure and I consider myself to be quite adventurous when it comes to food, but it was more than about the food for me, it was about him, and I like to think if we had crossed paths i would have enjoyed being in his company.Yes I miss his travelogues and some of the dishes he tried. The pigs face he attempted to eat in France but tipped it into his bag while the "chefs" back was turned.
