RE: SOTD Saturday 6th November to Friday 12th November

Single-Edge Spicy Sunday
Prep: Hot shower
Pre: S.M. Novella pre-shave
Soap: NSS Warm Spice + Bay Rum EO
Bowl: Woodhead Large Tall Scuttle
Brush: Omega boar 10098
Razor: Gem Junior G bar + stubby handle
Blade: Gem (6)
After: Speick Active AS, C&E Sandalwood ASB

NSS warm spice created mountains of lather and was helped with a drop of Bay Rum essential oil. Tried this short handle on my ATT yesterday and came to the conclusion that their own Kronos handle suits that razor best; handle was just too clunky. However on this SE razor a short fat handle works much better.

Smooth BBS result even after 6 shaves with this blade. Lovely jubbly.
Have a great Sunday, folks.

Sunday

Evening, everybody.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Lord L5
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Brush: Kabuki Bamboo
Shave soap: Kell's Aloe and Hemp Ancient Sedona
Aftershave: Old Spice
Cologne: L'Air du Desert Marocain

Pretty good result but, for a Tech clone, the Lord L5 is aggressive and bity.

SOTD Saturday 6th November to Friday 12th November

Prep - Italian Almond Soap / Facial Sauna
Razor - Ever Ready 1912 (thanks Hippo [emoji106])
Blade - GEM Personna SE (#1)
Brush - Omega 20106
Soap - Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna (with glycerine)
After - Alum / Witch Hazel
Result - BBS

First time with SE and I'm shocked at the result. Found it very intuitive compared to starting with DE. The blade tugged slightly at the start but I was expecting it. I also came across my wife's old facial sauna when I was clearing out some boxes yesterday and thought I'd try it. I usually prep with Kyle's Method after a shower but I thought I'd live dangerously[emoji23]!
I was expecting some razor burn and at least a few nicks or whatever but no, not even a sting with the Alum.

Mongoose : UFO Kaiser
Feather AC Pro (3)
Thäter 49125/1 3-band
Wickham Master Lather
Mennen Skin Bracer
Serge Lutens Chergui

And a dab of Nivea Creme on the nose.

Felt grotty all evening - no doubt coming down with something - and for whatever reason the lather was poor. By the second pass I might as well have been dry shaving. Feather AC blades in a heavy razor aren't particularly appreciative of that, so I was duly punished with a few weepers. Nevertheless, a close shave with barely any irritation - although that could be attributed to my (rare) use of alum while I cleared up.

RE: SOTD Saturday 6th November to Friday 12th November

Soap: Mike Soap - Barbershop
Razor: 1912 SE
Blade: GEM
Brush: Custom 400 Boar
Aftershave: Angela Flanders - Artillery #2
EDT: Paco Rabanne - 1 Million

A very pleasing shave earlier today, Mikes soaps for a change and the Barber Shop scent is my favourite. The Custom 400 Boar whipped up some nice and creamy lather for two very close passings.

Angela Flanders scents are really nice, though not very long lasting. So rather than being called EDT's they would in fact be better labelled as aftershaves, which was just how I used it and will continue to do. Artillery #2 smells of pears which is nice, not sweet though a little synthetic, but even so it is still refreshing. I do prefer her Zanzibar which is probably my favourite from her collection. The warm cocoa scent from 1 Million really works with Artillery #2 and takes over once the later has faded.

All in all a great BBS shave and smelling super.

Have a great evening Gents. :)

Best shave in a long time

3P
Plisson synthetic
Ralph Lauren Safari soap
Schick Adjustable on 4
Personna blade
Osage Rub
RL Safari EDT

I forgot how good this soap smells and performs. So good I had to put on the EDT to finish off.

Thanks, yes it does go well. I have another handle in the pipeline which may very well beat them all. Have to wait and see...
