SOTD : Saturday 27th October - Friday 2nd November 2018.

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal Birch Sap facewash
Pre: Proraso White preshave
Soap/Cream: Palmolive shave stick
Brush: Razorock Plissoft
Razor: DE89 Kelvin
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (1)
Post: Cold water rinse / Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel
AS: Brut
ASB: Nivea Sensitive

Best shave so far. By far. The 50p Palmolive stick gave a thick, creamy, protective lather in no time and with no effort at all. The fresh Astra blade was sharp but smooth and very comfortable in the DE89. No matter how hard I try, I can't find any trace of stubble and this was without overshaving, irritation or nicks. I might have found my recipe....

Have a great evening.

Cheers
Steve

Today's shave:

- Stirling Barbershop
- Semogue TSN 2018 LE Boar
- Game Changer .68 with MR11 handle and Feather blade
- Brummel aftershave

:)

Second shave with this brush. Scrubby with some scritch, but no scratch. It took some effort to lather up the soap, but I've had difficulties with Stirling and boar brushes in the past as well.

Due to OCtober and trying out loaners it's been quite a while since I've used the General.
I won't make that mistake again, it's no way to treat an old friend.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Tonight's shave

D R Harris Arlington soap
Simpson 58 Best Badger
Geo. Wostenholm and Son Pipe Razor
A little alum
Nivea 2 in 1 Balm

Both razors needed a touch up on the edge. Been a little while since I'd had a straight shave.

The Naniwa 12k has definitely returned the keen-ness to the Wosty - will have to do the Herder this weekend.

SOTD.jpg

Pre shave: Warm shower and Nivea face wash + Noxzema shave cream
Razor: Fatip Piccolo
Blade: NOS Gillette Stainless - Czech Republic (#12)
Soap: Cella soap
Brush: Rooney Silvertip
Bowl: Korium
Post shave: Alum block, cold water splash and Humphreys Cucumber witch hazel
AS: Lab series balm

Cracking shave today, the Rooney Silvertip whipped up a superb lather from the Cella Soap. This brush is nice and soft but with decent backbone. Plus possibly my favourite DE razor the Fatip, with the excellent Czech Gillette blade still working well after 12 shaves (3 pass).

Friday 2nd November

Pears Glycerine Soap
Proraso Pre Shave Ceam
Valobra Shaving Stick
Yaqi Handle with a 24mm Maggards 2 Band/Boar mixed knot
Bigelow-Parkin Razor with an Astra SP Blade
Alum and Rinse
Arko Classic Cream
Old Spice AS
I think this is my final shave with the Bigelow-Parkin Pass around razor. It has been a joy to use and given excellent shaves........but I am beginning to struggle with the concept of using the same razor every day.
3 passes for a wonderful shave:)
