Slippy Medium: GFT Coconut Soap
Skin Sealer of Superbness: Barbershop Bay Rum
Lubricating Decotion: Homemade Post Shave Oil with Eucalyptus

Braw sunny day here in Scotlandshire and my fortieth birthday to boot. Shaved off the beard but left ear-lobe length sideburns and the moustache. Too damn hot for a portly chap like myself to be encumbered by such a hirsute appendage so swish, swish, whack, whack and it's Carmina Burana (Orf). Feels magic but the 'tache is definitely staying this time. Anyhoo, Happy Birthday to me and a large cup of tea.....:D
Happy birthday sir! Hope you had a fantastic fortieth!

Result: Lovely fresh, zesty, refreshing soap is this recipe from Jabonman. Seems to work better for me face lathering and leaves my face feeling smooth and soft. A lovely soap. Super iridium working well too and the Digress never fails to deliver a great shave.

All the best,

Razor vintage Solingen Erusta 96 Boehlersteel full hollow 13/16
Strop Kanayama Cordovan #8000
Brush Custom Le Tuft Blue 8
Soap TFS Begamot & Neroli
Witch Hazel
L'Occitane Baux Aftershave Balm
Kiehl's Musk original blend No1.

I don't often comment on my shaves but I must say the Erusta 96 Boehlersteel is without doubt one of the finest razors I have ever shaved with the equal to any I have in my collection including Filarmonica's Puma's Dubl Duck Henckels or my Japanese straights.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Murdock Avalon pre-shave oil
Soap: Murdock Avalon cream
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Semogue 830
Razor: ATT R2 Kronos
Blade: Personna 74 (1)
After: Aqua Velva Musk AS, Zirh soothe ASB

First time using this vintage blade kindly given to me by Robert Otten. These blades are highly regarded and said to last for 20 to 30 shaves. We shall see.
First impressions are it shaves really smoothly, dang sharp and is a joy to use. BBS result (which is quite normal for my ATT) but I had a bit of irritation on my lower neck which was maybe down to too many passes and making the lather a little too thin. I read that the first few uses of this blade can be tricky, so maybe it wasn't just me.
This should be an interesting few weeks coming up.
