SotD: Saturday 19th April to Friday 25th April 2014

I'd been looking forward to this one for 2 days, my new favourite blade in my favourite razor.

Shower
MWF/TOBs sandlewood super lather
Merkur 37 Slant
Personna Lab blue (1)
Thayers witch hazel
Old Spice A/s
Will pop on the last of my trial vial of Eucris before going out.

Colour me disappointed but the shave to irritation ratio is right off what I've been getting lately. The shave is SAS, good even but I've got far more irritation today.

I think there was too much water in the lather as I produced loads but the cushion wasn't great. I also think a get a bit of a reaction from TOBS.

Even Huey was unusually disappointing in providing the tunes, but he just made it up with this...

Saturday

Afternoon, gents.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Junjie TTO
Blade: Dorco ST-300 (1)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave cream: Trumper's Rose
Aftershave: Homemade Rose splash
Cologne: Aramis 900 knock-off

I remembered that this razor was aggressive but still managed a few nicks around the mouth - more care tomorrow. Still, there's no irritation, I'm smooth, and there's a nice rose scent wafting around. Have a good weekend.

The big 'Four-Oh' shave:

Whisker Whacker: Jagger 89L, BiC
'Andle & 'Air: Hand-carved Ash 27mm Boar Brush
Slippy Medium: GFT Coconut Soap
Skin Sealer of Superbness: Barbershop Bay Rum
Lubricating Decotion: Homemade Post Shave Oil with Eucalyptus
Smelly Stuff: Mr Taylor's Cologne

Braw sunny day here in Scotlandshire and my fortieth birthday to boot. Shaved off the beard but left ear-lobe length sideburns and the moustache. Too damn hot for a portly chap like myself to be encumbered by such a hirsute appendage so swish, swish, whack, whack and it's Carmina Burana (Orf). Feels magic but the 'tache is definitely staying this time. Anyhoo, Happy Birthday to me and a large cup of tea.....:D

Graeme! Happy BIG FOUR OH! I can remember it like it was ... we won't go into that.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: Tabac
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: MÜHLE Kosmo silvertip synthetic
Razor: Merkur 37c Slant
Blade: Gillette Super Thin (3)
After: Tabac AS, Coral Skin Food

Tabac soap is one soap I will always have in the bathroom manbinet; so easy to generate mountainous slick and cushioning lather and a unique scent you never forget. Replaced my usual Tabc ASB with Coral Skin Food for a lighter, flowery finish which worked well.
How many Easter Bank Holidays have been this sunny, eh?

GEM OCMM
GEM PTFE (6)
Shaving.ie Silvertip
Wickham Soap Company Super Smooth Garden Mint
Speick A/S

Hadn't managed to shave in over 2 days - but the OCMM and GEM blade, on its sixth shave, served me well. BBS, zero irritation and dapper as always!

I absolutely love the Garden Mint soap - it performs great and the smell is sublime.

The Garden Mint has to be my favourite too.

Erik, you must be the only person with Master Lather left. I just went through my supplies and don't have any here. Glad to see you are still enjoying it though. :)
