Greetings,

(Face & Head Shave) (Shave Stick Week)

A new eclectic shave set up to start the Weekend...I decided to use my much loved Muhle R89/Wilkinson Sword Classic blade duo for my face shave which was a comfortable match.

The WS shave stick is a wonderful shave stick it's surprising how much of a good lather you get from this humble shave stick.

It's a such a shame that they have now been discontinued. I was lucky enough to get a spare before this happened which should hopefully keep me going for some time...Another great humble shaving product gone forever.

Another enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Blue Stratos EdT to the pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Brush: Simpson Colonel
Soap: A&E Tobacco Road
Razor: Atelier Durdan Vestige (++)
Blade: GEM PTFE (5)
Post: A&E Tobacco Road AS & EDP

Another good one, last few shaves before passing it on, I don't want to let this one go. Nice smooth and irritation free finish, this may sound odd but if I decide to get it I wonder whether I'll get bored of it because of how effortless it is, strange thing to say as really that should be my ultimate goal.

Despite August's month long assault on the nose with this tobacco road I still love it, I'll have to get a few more ordered. This set looks like a two Soap to one Splash combo, I've got a ton of the AS left and the soap is doughnuting.

Hope everyone has a grand weekend.

Cheers

Marc

First use of the Merkur 39c slant and it gave me a very comfortable and very close two pass shave. The lather provided by the Cadman and Magnum was just magnificent this morning too.
I have owned quite a few slant razors in the past but none lasted long. The classic 39c “Sledgehammer” looks like it might be “the one”, comfortable handle and comfortable shave. Excellent.

Saturday 16 September

So, in the 1930s a German fellow decided that from a design sense safety razors needed another angle. Bring on Hermann Zaiss, Solingen-Ohligs in the then West Germany. His tilted head design was patented in 1937 and he produced razors through to the 1950s. All with a prefix Neo. The Neo-Lux, Neo-Ras, Neo Gam Neorador, Neon, to name a few. Not quite the sexiest of monicas for a razor although I think the foto of my bad boy has a sort of Art-Deco look about it. Made of hard plastic and metal, although some were all metal. Once the blade is set in the head the pin slips over and tightens via the spring end of the handle. Simple really, no screwing required.

I was not sure what to expect with this odd ball razor. However, my face suitably lathered it delivered an amazing bbs shave In 2 passes and pick ups. Astra blade was new but didn’t feel as sharp as I would like. The tilted head is at a perfect angle and allows the business bit of the razor head to be seen at all times. The handle never gets in the way. Not easy to describe but using it just seemed so natural, so comfortable it’s a perfect Design. There, I’ve said it! I’m truly amazed. Rock on Hermann

Have a fantastic weekend fellas!

Razor: Schick Injector I2 Eversharp Hydromagic
Blade: Schick Injector, 5th use
Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T3
Bowl: Muhle Bowl
Preshave: Proraso Crema Pre Barba con Olio Di Sandalo Cream
Soap: Martin De Candre Original Puck
Balm: Acqua di Parma Barbiere Balm
Additional Care: Osma Alum
Additional Care: Cold Water

This morning a nostalgic shave with the Schick I2. A little disappointing because the blade reacted quite thightly. I’m a little surprised that a Schick blade should get blunt after five shaves and should be replaced. What’s your experience: how many comfortable shaves do you get from a Schick blade? Enjoy the weekend. Nice weather here for the time of the year! Wish the same to you all!

Another new blade for me, and a razor I don’t know that well. It certainly gave the Fatip more bite than the Fatip and Astra blades I have previously used in it. A very close 2 pass shave.
