SOTD: Saturday 14 - Friday 20 October 2023.

Wonderful shave. I used my favourites last night instead of re-assessing my collection.
The three Simpsons items were a deal buying together.

My best razor - has no name or brand, but is the best shave of all my razors.
The blade tabs are enclosed. Never mind Jagger or Stainless Steel. This is a rare find.
Metal Manual Shaving Shaver £6 at Aliexpress post free.
I've used it for four months nearly solid, and is my razor of choice still. I bought a spare too.

Good shave this morning, perhaps a little too efficient of a razor for today after the dart yesterday. Lovely scent, though the lather wasn't the best this morning, plenty of slickness but the cushion was absent, suspect I underloaded.

Not to worry, still a decent enough finish and no irritation.

My Shave today consisted of...

Prep Proraso preshave balm
Bowl Captains Choice Obsidian Copper.
Brush Yaqi Aqua 24mm brush.
Soap Geo F Trumpers Rose cream.
Razors Razorock Hawk V3 A plate.
Blade Feather Pro.
Aftershave Jean paul gaultier.

I thought I would finally try the Rose shaving cream that came as a free sample years ago.
I would say it had turned into a hard soap rather than a cream but I put that down to how long I have had it.
To prep it I pressed it into the base of the bowl and just covered it with hot water to soften it up.
Wow it produced a cracking velvet lather and felt fabulous on my face. Are all GFT creams like that? If so I will add some to my Xmas list.
My Hawk as always was a real pleasure to Shave with it's such a lovely razor and super versatile if you have all 3 plates.
Enough waffle a cracking and enjoyable shave had.

That's the end of my original tube of Erasmic cream (I got over 50 shaves from it), another very nice lather from a very cheap product. I know i have at least another tube somewhere.
Using the boar brushes frequently really makes them more predictable and consistent, I have had no issues these last couple of weeks and they have performed brilliantly.
Straight in today ATG then an XTG pick up pass with the very efficient Stainless Mühle, BBS and comfortable in 2, no error passes.
Spot on that.
Baton down the hatches ready for Storm Bebet.

Amazing 2 pass shave.


Honestly, a daily shaver who wasn't chasing 110% BBS could get away with a 1 pass shave (mixture of WTG & XTG) very easily with this plate.

Trumper Creams are superb,
with my favourite being Spanish Leather.
However
Don’t buy their soaps they are shite

The PAA Peregrino is an efficient brush producing a really good lather in double quick time. More than enough for two thick coatings. The R41 head on the Razorock handle felt very manoeuvrable and secure in the hand. Unfortunately, I got a little overconfident and on the first pass whipped through a permanent raised area and drew blood. Whoops, my bad. The rest of the shave was uneventful and resulted in the usual squeaky close R41 finish.
