A close and comfortable shave.
I've had closer but I had a lot of growth and didn't do any pre-shave so think it did quite well.

Rating: 4 / 5

Razor: Gillette Mk. I Adjustable 195 'Fatboy' (1960)
Blade: Wilkinson Sword Brazilian, modern
Brush: Vulfix 404 "The Grosvenor"
Lather: Captain Fawcett Scapicchio
Aftershave: Denim 1970s aftershave

14/4/24

Soap - Hampshire Wool Fat #1
Brush - Yaqi G4 20mm
Razor/Blade 1 - Ever Ready 1912/Personna GEM (2)
Razor/Blade 2 - Gillette NEW LC/Gillette 365
AS - Benjamins Bay Rum Mentholated

First shave in 3 days, and I cracked out my Ever Ready 1912 and it mowed down the growth without the slightest bit of resistance. Second razor/blade as my face can't take an efficient razor/blade for the areas I missed on the first pass. Great results from the first pass, I could have got by with it alone but I had a few stragglers under the nose that I find hard to shave with the 1912, the NEW LC with the smaller head picked up those hairs without a problem.

The mighty @Gairdner said he put in a few drops of glycerine and castor oil into his Benjamins Bay Rum and I did the same thing, the splash is definitely more moisturising than without it. Honestly I can't believe I didn't try it before!

Fantastic shave.

Sat 13th April

Aleppo soap-Shave pre wash
Stirling Syn 26mm
Stirling Baker Street
Occams Enoch
Schick Proline ( 3 )
Alcolado Glacial A/S splash

Last time out with The Enoch was not so good, as my skin was very dry and shaving was not pleasant.Today was good and completed very quickly as the Razor is very efficient.

As I have found out for myself recently, those Prolines work wonders in the Enoch. Certainly my go to blade for it at the moment.

Brush: Dogwood DG B16
Soap: B&M Lavender
Razor: Frederick Reynolds Swayback
Post: B&M Lavender AS, Balm & Interrupted

Excellent finish from the Reynolds accompanied by a great scent. Oddly I think I've started to get a reaction from the Interrupted EDP. I've gone through a process of elimination and it's only after using this does my skin go crazy, weird as I don't normally react to anything. I'll keep using it because I love the stuff but I'll limit it to a quick spritz on my clothes.

Hope everyone has had a grand day.

Cheers

But do I really like these, shave

Prep - hot shower, lather face wash
Bowl - DSCosmetic green bowl
Soap - Wilkinson Sword Shaving Soap
Brush - Omega Pro 49 boar
Razor - Muhle R89 Twist
Blade - Derby Premium (3)
Splash - Forest Fresh ASL
Balm - Nivea Sensitive Cool PSB
Fragrance - Mastermind Vintage EDT

Not sure about this shave. It went ok, lather was ok, brush was ok, blade was on it’s last outing, but ok. End result was fine, smooth and comfortable. But. Did I enjoy it? Well, it was ok! Not wild about the soap, I’ve got better. Not that keen on the brush, I find it a bit big and unwieldy, it gets the job done but doesn’t feel as nice as some of my synthetics. I find it a bit floppy in the bowl and a bit splashy on the face! Maybe it’s better for face lathering. I’ll give it a rest for a couple of shaves, then try again and see how it goes.
