Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 20 February 2010

Tuesday

Merkur 37C HD Slant
Derby Extra (4)
Semogue 1305
Old Spice Cream (Lime, India)

Nivea ASB & Old Spice AS

Very good shave.

Old Spice AS "cut" (or mixed as we, of a more innocent nature, say) with Nivea ASB 50/50, was a delight. How shall I put this, soothing but with a bit of a zing...

Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 20 February 2010

Monday Night

Feather Portable head on a Parker handle
Feather (2)
Vulfix Pure
Musgo Real cream
Proraso Balm

The Parker handle changes the feel of the Portable's head but doesn't affect the quality of the shave. The Musgo cream is very good and has a great scent to boot.

Tuesday

Gillette Red Tip
Gillette Permasharp (1)
BK8
Coates Sandalwood
Aqua Velva

I really don't get the Permasharps... its a decent shave but I feel I have to work for it. I'll keep these for when I've run out of Dorcos...

Well thats the 4th shave out of the Feather and another DFS, got to go for the 5th tomorrow ( I normally bin a blade after 2-3 shaves), no tugging or pulling and a very smooth shave with no irritation, got out the Pashana as I had'nt used it for a while, wow what a smell definitely old school, all in all another good shave.

Have a pleasant day gents.

Tuesday

Fatboy
Derby Extra x 1
Semogue 1800
TOBS Shaving Shop cream
TOBS Shaving Shop a\s sample

this is my first outing with TOBS having bought some ages ago in TK Maxx, i know people say this about some products but there was loads of lather from this cream
i was impressed as i always considered TOBS to be a poor relative to the big guns, don't know why :?

i'm not struck on the scent though, in fact none of TOBS i've smelled so far does it for me

Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 20 February 2010

Tuesday

Merkur Futur
Feather blade
Omega Cream
Alum Block
L'Oreal Men Expert 24hr Moisturising Aftershave Balm

The Merkur is definitely a less forgiving razor than my vintage Gillettes - have to go very easy on the sensitive areas of my face!

Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 20 February 2010

Wars Cream
Vulfix 2235 Super badger
EJ DE89
Treet Dura Sharp (1)
Boots Freshwood ASB

Very smooth, close and a pleasant shave. I like the Dura sharps and they will go into my rotation.

Don't sell too soon Hawkeye!

Vianne Straight/Chatsworth/Gillette Super Thin - up and down with the straight, across with the Chatsworth. Works for me.
DR Harris Rose cream
Kent H8 Best badger
DR Harris A/S Milk

Thought it was summer with the smell of roses wafting around. A good session. This Kent brush doesn't get many mentions on the forums - it really is good value. I just bowl lathered and painted on today - in that mode the Kent is as good a most higher priced brushes. And it's a pretty good face latherer too.

Wednesday

Gold Tech
Swede
Vulfix VS/3
Trumper's Rose Soap
Clinique Post Shave Soother

Fantastic shave. Trumper's Rose is my number one soap. It seems to soften my beard better than any other.

Wednesday

Merkur 34C HD
Merkur (1)
Semogue 1305
Old Spice Cream (Lime, India)

Nivea ASB & Old Spice AS

Excellent shave with the 34C, which I haven't used for a good while. You know it when the first stroke of the first pass seems effortless; it was one of those.

The Old Spice AS with Nivea ASB 50/50 mix is proving addictive even after two days, wonderful.

:D

Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 20 February 2010

Wednesday

Weishi
Omega 80056 Boar
Feather (5)
Superdrug Pre-Shave spalsh
Culmak Soap/Ingrams cream Superlather
Alum Block
Wilkos (shop) AB
Pashana Bay Rum (used as an AS)

Combine a very mild razor and the sharpest blade and what do you get ?, a very close, comfortable and smooth shave, the superlather probably helped and it took a bit more work but I got a DFS out of the shave, so tomorrow I'm going for the 6th shave  :shave out of the feather in another mild razor, the cheap concord (another Tech ripoff  ).

Have a pleasant day Gents

Tony
