Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 13 February 2010

Saturday:
EJ 87 / Red Personna
Semogue 1305
Palmolive stick
Floid Blue

Today I had one of those "why use anything else?" moments.

Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 13 February 2010

Saturday

Mühle R89
Wilkinson (1)
Trumpers Travel Super Badge brush (I know I'm not traveling)
Trumpers Coconut Cream
Alum
Trumpers Coral skin food (Pre shave and after)
Trumpers Moisteriser

3 pass with touch ups. Good smooth shave - not BBS

Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 13 February 2010

Saturday

Cheapo Shavette
Dorco 301 (3)
Kent BK8
Coates Sandalwood
Aqua Velva

Red Tip/Wilkinson (1) for touchups

Good, not great... I hate Dorco blades... lose their keenness as soon as they are presented to the skin.

Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 13 February 2010

Saturday

4/8 Straight + Futur/Gillette Super Thin
Vulfix VS/3
Coates Sandalwood Shaving Cream
Musgo Real a/s

The 'straight' half of the shave started quite well, but then fell away, especially on the neck area - which caused me to abort. Finished with the Futur/Super Thin combo which was easy, enjoyable and got the job done.

Re: Shave of the Day, w/c Saturday 13 February 2010

Edwin Jagger EJ89 razor
Derby blade
Neo custom boar brush
Gold Dachs Spezial soap
L'Occitane Cade aftershave splash
L'Occitane Cade balm (sample)

Lovely shave today, though went a tad too close and have a few very tiny nicks. The Gold Dachs soap was a PIF from Frederick a while back, but only started it this week. It is gorgeous stuff, really creamy lather. I assume it is a tallow soap. Very subtle fragrance, quite soapy, hard to identify but classy. The Cade splash is great with the bonus that SWMBO finds it irresistible. Love is in the air mes amis!!!! :hungrig

No time for a shave yesterday so was abit stubbly.

Straight
Wilkinson Sword brush
The real shave Co cream

Needed to touch up on the neck, chin and top lip so:

Gillette Superspeed
Feather

Bloody brilliant shave. Got most of my face smooth with the straight, but the chin, bits on the neck and top lip i cant seem to get smooth every shave.
Not been liking the Superspeed for the past few times i used it, but with the Feather in on its second shave it was a lovely shave  Smoothed out everywhere nicely and no irritation

I'm glad you like it. It's actually a 100% veggie soap - further proof that tallow isn't an absolute necessity for superior lather.
