lovely photos, much post processing? A couple of them look as if they have a slight HDR affect to them. Courfe castle would look great in HDR if you still have the RAW file.

I'm hopelessly out of touch. Had no idea what HDR was until I just looked it up. I don't shoot RAW images. These days I just snap away on auto and use my iMac's iPhoto editing system to make small adjustments if needed. Must check out what HDR is all about.

Very nice. The first 3 do have that HDR'd look about them, but if they've not been subject to that, you've captured some lovely light.

I did a 3 year City and Guilds in photography about 20 years ago. I used a medium format Bronica, always with light meter and tripod. All manual. Among the things left with me was patience to wait for decent light. In today's world that still applies. But as I said earlier I now use digital SLRs mainly set at auto. I upload to my Apple iMac and occasionally tweak with a simple enhancement feature in iPhoto, a very basic editing programme. I don't record when I use it. Strikes me that these days we rely so much on our cameras and editing systems that all the care needed 20 years ago is no longer necessary. Even composition is so much easier with the availability of cropping.
These days I am a happy hobbyist with one client: me. If I'm happy with my pics, I know my family will be too.

Here are four examples of photos taken on a visit to Rome. Wonderful light. But I really will check out what HDR is and what it has to offer.

Very nice indeed, Fido. Makes a refreshing change from browsing through shave porn (or should that be 'Shornography'?). Particularly like the shot of you 'engaged in matters of consequence' at Alderney. Love that phrase. In fact, I can see myself adopting it as a default response to everything my wife asks! :D

Oh, and very impressed by your blogspot. Though somewhat concerned at how people will interpret (or rather misinterpret) the section on addiction. Therefore, I'd like to state for the record - and pre-empt any questions as to my parenting style - I DO NOT misappropriate the children's dinner money to indulge my 'shaving cravings'. That bit was strictly toungue-in-cheek.

The last thing I need is a herd of zealots from social services, or an angry lynch mob from TSR armed with rusty Feathers, beating a path to my door.

;)
