Sandwiches....weird but oddly satisfying combinations.

Meat-free sandwiches should be treated with suspicion unless proven otherwise...

...like cheese and beetroot? I think you may have taken umbrage to the term "vegwich".

I'm a carnivore all right but I can list you plenty of veggy sandwich ingredients I'd be happy to munch.

Meat and dairy though? Now you're talking.

Steak/ham, brie + rocket
Salami, provolone + vinegar pepper's (Tony Soprano combo)

You need good bread though...so see bread thread. There's always the ribwich...

My favourite 'odd' combination is cheese and mango chutney. It is basically a light, summery version of cheese and pickle. I made it once for a buffet, and people seemed to like it once they got over the initial fear of anything that wasn't a regulation sandwich.

Findus or Birds Eye used to do an Indian Stir Fry that came in a big plastic bag. Throw it into the pan and serve hot, straight onto well buttered white bread... :hungrig

I think they stopped making it years ago. :(

They did, but Tesco also make one that's quite adequate for the same purpose! Add a little extra soy sauce for flavour though. ;)

I shall investigate this weekend. :)
