S.O.T.D. w/c Saturday 5th - Friday 11th July 2014, incl.

Thursday x July, 2014

Prep: Hot shower, No7 Men Energising Face Wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Morris & Forndran Blonde Badger Beehive
Soap: Jabonman Lima-Pimienta-Mentolado w extra lanolin
Razor: Braveheart head on a Maggard M7 handle
Blade: Personna Lab Blue #2
Post: Myrsol Agua de Limón, Trumpers Extract of Limes Skin Food
Fragrance: Houbigant Fougère Royale

Result: Beginner's error this morning - forced the razor head, too much pressure and a little blood spilt. Alum cleared it all up so nothing to worry about, just a reminder that a light touch is all that's required.

Have a good day, gents.

Birthday Shave

Pre: Proraso Green Pre Post
Soap: Wickham Spice Trade
Brush: NF Tubby 2
Razor: King Cobra
Blade: Feather Pro Guard (7)
Post: Indian Old Spice

Fantastic shave. Amazing lather and scent from the soap. Great cushioning and slip. Easy BBS in 3 passes. Final pass was ATG which used to be a bit sore afterwards when done a DE. Don't feel anything with the King Cobra, no nicks or irritation, even with 7 shaves with the same blade.

Result: Face as smooth as the day I was born (apart from the goatee!)

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: Stirling Black Ice
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Vulfix Bodger
Razor: Fatip + templ8 handle
Blade: Ladas (3)
After: Sierran Breeze AS, Every Man Jack ASB

Sometimes it doesn't all come together; just falls apart.

Disappointing shave this morning. The last time I used a Ladas blade with my Fatip the combination was superb. The last few shaves with this combo have been sad.
Blade draggy (even when I first used it), soap didn't really reach full body and way to much menthol for me. I think this soap could actually freeze hell over. Even the Bodger felt like a mop.
Oh well, tomorrow's another razor/blade combo so things are looking up.

End of whinge.

Today's shave was a dream ...

Bulldog Face Wash
Arko Stick (Grated)
Kent Infinity Silvertex
Durham Duplex Kamisori Hack
Personna Carbon Steel (Carpet Cutter) [3]
Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse & Alum Wash
Hai Karate Aftershave

Face Lathered
Three Pass - WTG, XTG & ATG

Smashing! The Durham Duplex head on a stick is so much easier to wield than on traditional scales ... for me.

Super smooth and without any irritation, fear of nicks, cuts or grazes.

... a dream.
