The Progress was excellent and the Polsilver keeps going...

The scent from the cream was very good, bowl lathered without issue and it has a nice zesty zing; cushion and glide were fine but I didn't find offer much in the way of residual slickness and no issues post shave.

How far are you planning to go on for with the Polsilver? I'm on the 5th use, have noticed it's getting buttery smooth, but as sharp as the first use

I use each blade - modern Polsilver or vintage Wilkinson or Personna - for 12 days and then discard it. They never get too dull.

Birch Tar Soap
Vitos Preshave Cream
Stirling Texas on Fire soap (Sample thanks to @Blademonkey)
Semogue TSN LE 2012 Badger/Boar Brush
Focus Dynamic SE Razor
Alum Block and Rinse
Groomed Post Shave Balm
Benjamins Mentholated Bay Rum
Golden Dust Perfume Oil

Not a lot of time this morning so I reached for the Focus Dynamic. The Texas on Fire soap had a beautiful balance and scent and lathered as a good soap should. I will definitely purchase when the sample is finished. 2 quick passes for a DFS+ shave

Evening gents.
Quick sotd report for this evening.
First use of a treet 7day blade, bought a pack to try after reading the thread on them in the blade section.
Not quite sure what I think yet, but will add my thoughts on that particular thread.
I will just say here not a great shave, quite a bit of irritation.
Gillette razor
Treet 7 day razor #1
Grosvenor boar brush
Rockwell dead sea croap
Superdrug as balm
Tabac lotion

Prep: Shower
Razor: Valet Autostrop
Blade: Valet Autostrop
Brush: Plisson Synthetic
Soap: Leftovers Mixture
Aftershave: Astral Cream (soft)
EDP: Miller Harris Vetiver Insolent

My oldest Autostrop razor and I am fortunate to have just half a dozen of these original first pattern Valet blades, and they are in superb condition which is fortunate considering they are from the early 1920's or earlier (90+ years old) The blades are completely coated in a thick layer of heavy white grease and then wrapped in greaseproof paper and then the wrapper in the picture. These blades are quite different from the later patterns with the cut-outs, apart from the blade being entire the single grind bevel is at a very different shallow angle giving a long bevel; they strop up really well and if you can be bothered to fit a temporary spine and strop them by hand; considerably better still.

Regards
Dick.

SOTD 13th OCt.JPG
Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso white
Razor: Fatip Piccolo
Blade: Personna Lab Blue (#1)
Brush: Kent BLK4
Cream: The Traditional Shaving Company - Leodis
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea Soothing Balm.

First shave with the Traditional Shaving Company cream, the scent is very pleasant but not overly strong. The Kent Silver Tip brush made easy work of creating thick rich lather from the cream. I had easily enough lather for 3 passes from a small amount of cream. Result=one very fine shave, helped no doubt by the Fatip and the Lab Blue, I could probably have got away with just 2 passes today but a very light 3rd pass left a nice close finish.
Thanks @traditionalshaving for the chance to try this Cream.

Friday's shave of the day :)

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap face wash, followed by BBA Pre-Shave Oil.
Razor - Blackland Sabre-SE
Blade - GEM (Persona) PTFE Mild (Day 4).
Soap - Jack Black Supreme Cream Shaving Cream.
Bowl - Little Wren.
Brush - Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger Hair .
Post shave - Myrsol "Plastic" Shave, followed by Ibiza-Aloe Aloe Vera Gel.

The shaving god's aligned this morning, great 3 pass, BBS shave. I finally got the Jack Black Supreme Cream Shaving Cream to work, with a decent lather :)

I am really enjoying shaving with the Blackland Sabre-SE, great weight, balance and finding the optimum shaving angle, is lie falling off a log. Of course, YMMV :)

All the best,

Chris
