Having first borrowed, then bought my own Mongoose, this was my first DE shave for 3 weeks.

First time with this particular Fatboy, great razor indeed. First time with Triton blade, sharp smooth and close shaving.

Arko never fails to perform and found the lucky tiger leaves a nice sting free face feel.

I took the top off a shave bump with my Mongoose yesterday. Looks like that spot is destined to bleed every time I shave for a while!

Curry and beer planned for tonight.

Well, this cartridge has done a good seven days with a couple of passes per shave. The lack of gloop strip was a big bonus for me as that really puts me off modern cartridges but the unclogging tab was a welcome modern addition.

First time using any Haslinger soap and I'm impressed. Thick stable slick lather. This may become my travel soap since it comes in a lightweight plastic case.

Balm: Village Barber balm


20 strops on linen, 30 on leather and 30 on cordovan sharpened this up a treat! Very nice shave with this today.

No EDT for a change. Will make up for it tomorrow.

Trialing my pedestal bowl sitting inside a plastic bowl of hot water to keep the bowl warm. This outer bowl is too tall but does mean there's a large volume of hot water so the lather bowl ain't going to cool. Worked very well actually.

I think this razor/blade combination outperforms the Sputnik giving what I can only describe as a smooth beyond smooth BBS. I still need to perfect my technique round my chin but I'm improving.

Be careful in the fog today people.

Rough shave today, lather was fine, but that Injector is just a difficult shaver (for me), sometimes its great and I get a nice smooth shave but other times, like today it is awful. To be retired from the rotation. It might be on BST soon;)
