Beautiful razor, sir!

My own rasp:

EJDE3D, Shim, Polsilver SI
Hand-carved Ash Boar
Palmolive stick
Layrite No.9
Astral

Yon Layrite is amazing stuff - fabulous scent and performance. Do yourself a favour and get a bottle.

Thank you. I am VERY pleased with it ... perhaps in love? :D

Noted on the Layrite. My own homebrew is running down. That, and I quite fancy their Pomade, too.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Noxzema cleanser cream
Soap: Body Shop Maca Root + Lavender EO
Bowl: Woodhead Tall Large Scuttle
Brush: Omega Boar 98
Razor: ER 1914 SE + Cadet handle
Blade: Gem (3)
After: Floid Black AS, Every Man Jack ASB

A drop of Lavender oil to suit the Macca Root. This brush can take up a lot of lather so I wasn't mean with the cream and lathered up a dream, what a team!

Nicely.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage butterscotch rebranded Simpsons best
Schick F type/Gillette Platinum Plus (NOS)
AoS Sandalwood SS (old version)
La Toja Balsamo AS (thanks Good Doctor)
no EdT for some reason

Last 3-4 days I have fully expected to put this goofy little F type away but it's not working out that way. Probably my 6th shave in a row today using that razor with the same Gillette blade. Much as I like a DE, this thing is just a perfect fit and it's an injector!

One weird thing is how much I like that short curved handle. Another is the shave experience itself. The razor blade actually feels pleasant on my face and can tickle at times. Really, it's a strange thing.

Second time with this old AoS soap and so far I don't quite get what's up with the stuff. Performance isn't a problem at all, but it seems to take some work whisking that up into wonderfulness. Just surprised is all. Not a fluffy kinda result, although I might still need to tweak things. Also, I am not quite sold on the way the lather smells on my face, although its fine when just huffing the puck. Well, let's see how that ends up.

BBS results,

Martin

Prep: Village Barber Oil
Brush: Simpsons P8
Soap: L'Occitane Cade
Razor: Progress
Post: Unrefined Shea butter

Struggling with the progress recently feels quite rough all of sudden. First use of the Shea butter, it's a little time consuming melting it in your hands but the end result is good.
