Thanks to ajc347 I have a new toy to play with. I was a bit apprehensive about using the MMOC razor for the first time given its reputation of being rough but I found it a joy to use. First, loading the blade is mesmerising watching the head close and automatically adjusting the blade against the stops. This razor is the SE equivalent of the Gillette Slim in its engineering wonder.
The shave was very easy and at no point felt rough. Managed a nice BBS without irritation. If the Clog Pruf is an improvement on this I'll have to try one sometime.

Have a great weekend folks.

Mastro Livi Damasteel Ladder, 6/8 Full Hollow, French Point

I am particularly fond of Damasteel straight razors. Although it is very hard for me to tell what steel I like the best among those used by Mastro Livi - each one has its own quality and character - I like Damasteel because of its aggressiveness. This one is part of a personal series I ordered to Mastro Livi and to be used in my trips: although my favorite sizes are 7/8 and 8/8, smaller blades are better when you travel. Lovely razor, including its amaranth buckeye burl scales, a material I like quite a lot both for its look and pattern.

  • Pre-Shave: Roberts Distilled Rose Water

  • Brush: Omega Bristle 83
  • Bowl: Chinese Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Travel Loom Strop and Hand Palm

Razor: Schick dial adjustable (M15)
Blade: Personna 74 (6)
Post: Thayer's witch hazel, Penhaligon's Anthology Espirit Du Roi EdT
Face-lathered like a boss this morning! First time with the CRSW, lather and post-shave is outstanding.
Scent reminds me of a garden in Hawaii after a spring rain. Subdued, but lovely.
