S.O.T.D. Saturday 28th February to Friday 6th March 2015

Bulldog facial wash
Edwin Jagger pure badger
TOBS Eton College shaving cream
TOBS Herbal A/S cream
Merkur 33
Wilkinson Sword (1)

Popped into TOBS in London yesterday to buy some cream. Wish I had never bothered as today's shave left me with bright red face like a baboon's ar*e and extremely painful & itchy. :icon_redface:

Having got a variety of s/creams, it's very likely that I'm going to have to chuck them all or at least PIF them in due course. I am going to try a shave from each of them, and if that has the same result as today's shave, then I will get rid of them (and chalk it down to experience). :icon_sad: you would think at my age that I would know better!

Warm shower
Hot towel
CRSW Select Sandalwood scuttle lathered
Finest Badger brush made by myself
Gillette Single Ring (Made in England S/N H014236)
Polsilver Super Iridium (1)
Cold rinse
Thayers Superhazel
Boots Freshwood aftershave

Lovely close shave from the Single Ring. This example's on the milder side so I opened up the razor a little allowing the blade to lift slightly off the comb.

That razor set is sooo nice.

WEDNESDAY EVENING

Razor: StUFO (Stahly head, UFO Godzilla handle)
Blade: Gillette Silver & Blue
Brush: Muhle V2 synthetic
Soap: Wilke soap stick
AS: Brut
EDT: GFT sandalwood skin food
EDT (in morning): Caron Yuzu

After weeks of just using straights and SEs I'm back on the DE trail like a goodun!

For me, the Stahly head with a heavy handle is poifick (American spelling so Mart can unnerstan). It has just the right balance between aggression and mildness.

SOTD - Thurs
Pre: RazoRock menthol/lime soap
Soap: Grandstaff Soap Co. "Holy Smokes" v2
Brush: Paladin PK-47 2-band
Razor: Ikon DLC Slant w/SE handle
Blade: Wilkinson Sword [NOS UK "Light Brigade"] (4)
Post: Thayer's witch hazel, followed by Pitralon Swiss
Holy Smokes! This soap lives up to its name! It's quite possibly the slickest soap I've ever used. So slick I couldn't get a grip to stretch my skin.
Scent is powerful also. Described as "Tobacco leaf with almond, vanilla and clove", I get a slightly floral top note with vanilla/almond backing it up.
Paired nicely with the Pitralon Swiss. Fantastic 3-pass BBS.
