Cheers! It was actually an accident as I was trying to focus on the razor head with a wide aperture, but that slight missed focus caught the text absolutely bob-on and from there it was just a case of hitting the B&W button and fading around the edge to really focus the eyes. Backlit from sun just falling behind the clouds literally as I hit the shutter. Pretty pleased with it myself :D

Razor: StUFO (Stahly head, UFO Godzilla handle)

After weeks of just using straights and SEs I'm back on the DE trail like a goodun!

For me, the Stahly head with a heavy handle is poifick (American spelling so Mart can unnerstan). It has just the right balance between aggression and mildness.

Dat's right Doc, we all talks just like Bugs Bunny. Poifickt is da right wayta sayyit,

I felt the same way as you when giving the Cobra and Mongoose a break. Needed a set up that was comfortable and drama free. Like sinking into a favorite chair.

Prep: hot wash with Dove soap.
Brush: Vie-Long Horse.
Soap: Nanny's Signature Warm Spice.
Razor: 1966 L2 Gillette tech.
Blade: Supermax Blue Diamond titanium coated.
Post: Old Spice splash.

This much underrated tech did it again, nice 3 pass shave no cuts, nicks or irritation not quite BBS but very acceptable. Didn't even have any sting from the old spice. First time out with the Nanny's and it definitely smells better on the skin although once the old spice had been applied I could no longer smell the nanny's but it performs brilliantly.

Friday

Afternoon, gents.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ DE89
Blade: Super Max Stainless (7)
Brush: Kabuki Bamboo
Shave cream: Endymion
Aftershave: Mitre Trophy
Cologne: X-bolt

Another decent, close shave. These very cheap Super Max blades certainly do the job in a no-frills way. Tomorrow I'll try something smoother.
