Great shave for the end of the year, been saving this one. And, yes Paul you are right, Grey Flannel does work well with the Violet shave soap. I will get this sample posted to you on Friday.

This is the first NYE since I was 16 (just realised that's a decade!) that I'm not working behind a bar but the girlfriend goes back to work tomorrow morning. As such, there're bottles of champagne and crémant in the fridge and we're spending the evening working out our travel plans for 2015-16. Tickets to New York are booked for Easter but we've also got Eurostar vouchers to use before June and other holidays to plan.

Cheers, yes indeed I did think of TSR as I was sorting out my bits and bobs, I've done well this year with some nice Razors. I love this brush which gets a lot of nice comments when I share it.

Tried this with head flattish,then slight angle to shave. Works well for me. Got a bit
confident and went too fast ,hence a weeper.My first photo ,apologies.

Soap: My all time favorite, J Peterman 1903 concentrated shaving cream.
Post: Proraso Green AS.


After my usual prep, hot wash with dove soap, I whipped up way too much lather and way too easily. As I applied the 1903 to my face I took my sweet time as often happens when I use this, the aroma hits my nose and I cant help but inhale deeply. It is safe to say I love this smell. No matter what aftershave I use, I still get whiffs of it throughout the day. I don't use it too often as this is one cream I don't want to use up as it is a royal pain to get hold of seeing as there are no uk vendors and they refuse to mail to UK.

So a nice BBS 3 pass shave 2 WTG from my Kropp and 1 against the grain with my Jaws open comb and finishing of with some Prorasso Green after shave. Very nice start to the new year.

Happy new year! May this 2015 bring you all a very prosperous and magnificent year! Good BBS shave but still find the Vikings Sword give me razor burn, this was soon cured by the application of some Nivea post shave cream though.
