Beautiful shave from 3 stalwarts of traditional shaving.

Presentable but no awards for shave enjoyment nor results. I have a stock of assorted two blade disposables from before I started all this - this particular model is particularly cheap and gooey. I reckon it's a Tesco own brand.

A late start today. Experimenting with very mild shaves in the build-up to a possible Feather purchase. I must say that I'm getting just as close a shave with this razor set at one as I did with the R41 - it just feels smoother in action but with the same result.

I am revived!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Savile Row badger
1958 Toggle/Personna Stainless Steel (NOS)
Xpec SC
Neutrogena oil free moisture
Malizia 'Vetyver' EdT sprayed very liberally

Last time using the Toggle for a while. Nice change of pace but three shaves with it and finished for now. Heh, I did manage to give my upper lip a small slice through inattention, which started bleeding right away. Yep, I just barely touched my lip wrong and zing......knew it right away. Been years since last doing that.

Got out the big guns to stop the flow, since I prefer not seeing any red in the lather during my shave. The 'My Nik is Sealed' liquid styptic did the trick almost instantly, even though it burned like a bastard for a minute. Good stuff.

First time using this blade and I was hoping for more. It's good, but not great. See how it works in the Webly later in the week for a true test.

BBS results,

Martin

Brush made by myself, TGN Finest badger 22mm
Gillette 1963 Slim set on 5
Sputnik (1)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
DR Harris Arlington aftershave

A lovely shave the slim worked well when paired with a Sputnik very smooth. The scent and lathering quality of the Stroppe Shoppe London Morning with tallow excellent. The Arlington finished the job nicely.
