Greetings

Saturday 7th September 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: Pearl OC
Blade: Permasharp
Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed
Soap: Klar Kabinett
Aftershave: Astral cream (light)

A really good close shave but I found the Permasharp blade a little 'tuggy'. Perhaps it's not suited to this razor.

Regards
Dick.

Prep: hot shower
Brush: Simpson
Razor: C V Heljestrand M K 42, from Eskilstuna Sweden
Soap: Castle Forbes Lime
AS: Floid, special edition
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D

I'm very pleased how this edge paned out! I bought this razor for more (much more) than I normally do and after some buffing/light sanding/buffing (it had some thin scratches on the blades surface) I got a very nice bevel after a good while (heavy half to 1/4 hollow hard Swedish steel) and at that point I got a very nice feeling in my stomach :D :D

The All Natural Shaving Soap Co. was looking for people to test its traditional shaving soap. Always on the lookout for new software,
I threw my name in the hat and a test soap landed on the doormat yesterday along with an extensive covering letter.

I seemed to need a fair bit of product to build a decent lather on my face (or just lack of familiarity of the product), but once I got started it provided a dense, lasting lather.
My face feels really rather good post shave as well. Its up again tomorrow to see how it gets on for a second day.

Saturday:

Afternoon, gents.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Åžik Bay
Blade: Super Max Blue Diamond (1)
Brush: Erasmic
Shave cream: Monsavon
A/S: Grey Flannel
Cologne: Grey Flannel

A very good and extremely close shave. A small nick on the upper lip reminded me that this ultra-cheap razor from Turkey likes to bite, but with due respect shown I can get a top shave with no irritation (even where the nick was).

Ted Baker Pre Shave Face Wash
Hot Towel
3P Cream
Tubby 2
Ogallala Lime & Peppercorn SS (Thanks NTS)
Super Adjustable on 6 (Passaround)

Aqua Velva Ice Blue Classic

All fairly new stuff to me for this shave

Super smooth results

Warm shower
Hot flannel
Speick cream bowl lathered
Simpson Milk churn best badger brush
Gillette 1936 Aristocrat Deluxe
Sputnik (1)
Cold rinse
Thayers lavender witch hazel
Speick aftershave

Amazing shave from the Aristocrat and the Sputnik :icon_razz:, not as aggressive as I imagined it might be, just efficient.
I think this razor will be off for a re-plate in the future. The Speick creams coming to an end a few more shaves left.

skin bracer AS

very decent quickie. ive been after trying mennen skin bracer for a while and some id ordered turned up today, and its excellent. read somewhere before someone describing it as 'brut, without the skank', and thats pretty accurate. ill be using this quite often, very nice indeed.

A straight forward shave for the weekend. I did a superlather of T&H Ultimate Comfort and Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes, and Peppercorns partly as an experiment and partly because I couldn't decide between the two. I figured the combo would be a good way to kick off my time getting to know the Gem MicroMatic Clog Pruf.

Three passes, as per usual wtg/atg/xtg, followed by a cold water rinse and some T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel resulting in a DFS with zero nicks and mild irritation on my right jaw line. This was a much better result than my first attempt with this razor. It seems that my time working with the 1912 has paid off. I may not be an expert with SEs just yet, but I'm getting there. A pretty good shave with room for improvement.

Pre: Hot shower and warm water splash
Razor: Gem MicroMatic Clog Pruf
Blade: Gem stainless steel
Brush: Mixed loft boar/badger
Soap: Superlather of Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort and Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes, and Peppercorns
Post: Cold water rinse and T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel
