Gillette Aristocrat #15
Rapira Super Stainless (1)
Semogue SOC Boar
Valobra Sapone per barba
Proraso Aftershave lotion
Diptyque Tam Dao edt

Job's a good'un! Face lathered with the boar for the first time in a while - a bit too lofty, really, but it's very soft.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso preshave - sensitive
Soap: TOBS Sandalwood cream
Brush: Omega boar 10005
Bowl: Woodhead Large Tall Scuttle
Razor: Merkur 37c slant
Blade: Super-Max Blue Diamond (2)
After: WH, Aqua Velva Musk AS, Bodyshop Arber ASB

Gave the hard soaps a rest this morning and made it easy with a lovely sandalwood cream kept nice and warm in my scuttle.
This Omega brush has now lost its piggy stink and is feely really soft.

Kept the woody theme with the musk AS and Arber ASB which I recommend. Finished off with Trumpers Eau de Quinine cologne.

Result: almost BBS (missed a bit under the jawline) and ready for the day.

Hot shower
Hot flannel
Speick stick grated scuttle lathered
Simpson POLO 8 best badger brush
Gillette Aristocrat 21
Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Speick aftershave

Lovely close shave  the Silver Blue sharp and efficient in the Aristocrat. I've been experimenting with my camera and trying to improve my photos for SOTD posts. I'm no expert at photography so willing to learn and improve.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded Simpsons best
Schick F type injector/Gillette Platinum Plus (NOS)
Mike's SS (thank you Al)
Neutrogena oil free moisture
Givenchy 'Xeryus' EdT (old juice)

Last three shaves have been with the over 70 year old injector and this little aluminum thing is pretty damn good. The closest, yet still extremely comfortable shave of any injector I have tried. Today and yesterday I used Mike's soap and it's been good so far. Nice slip and cushion with better than average post shave skin care. I am hoping to coax a little more out of this, based on the many positive reviews. Sometimes it takes me a while to figure things out. Lather concocting ain't my strong suit.

BBS results,

Martin

Saturday:

Afternoon, gents.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Sodial/Junjie
Blade: Super Max Blue Diamond (1)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: Kell's Aloe and Hemp, Energy
Aftershave: Ice Dive
Cologne: Maxim's pour Homme

I ordered a couple of the newer Sodials from Amazon.com for $2.23 each inc. p&p (what are their margins??) which have solid handles and heads that are sometimes rubbish and sometimes very goo.. After about six weeks two razors with "Junjie" stamped on the head turned up in good condition. I had an excellent shave, a bit more aggressive than the EJ, from the first one. No complaints at all.

Prep: Warm water splash (Saturday afternoon shave)
Pre: Village Barber oil
Soap: Cella sample
Brush: New Forest 2213 Silvertip
Razor: E&J DE89 Chatsworth
Blade: Feather (2)
Post: Thayer's Lavender witch hazel

Second time using the Feather blade, still sharp but fading fast.
This time using the Cella with my very-hard tap water instead of distilled water. Lather was nearly impossible to build. Used nearly the entire sample sliver just to get a weak (but slick) lather.

SATURDAY MORNING

Was up early (for me!) this morning and after a pint of tea and a bit of web browsing I fancied a leisurely shave.

Prep: Warm water rinse and Prep cream massaged into beard
Brush: Thater 4125/1
Cream: GFT Coconut
Razor: Kai Captain Excelia kamisori
Blade: Feather Proguard
Post: Witch hazel then GFT Sandalwood skinfood
EDT: Pens Opus 1870

Took my time whilst listening to Radio 5 and ended up with a fine shave.

Might be able to crack the Feather AC out now as I think the blade has lost (to quote Dr Rick) it's crispiness and is in fine shaving fettle!
