The Eau de Brut's nice: it reminds me of an aftershave version of Terre d'Hermes.

Two Pass - Twice WTG

I am really starting to appreciate these vintage Gillette Techs. Run with a sharp blade, they are a lot of fun and this Feather blade, once run through a couple of times with a Muhle R41, has been used for quick polish ups in vintage Gillette Techs and they seem very well suited. Once run in, they'll continue for a good few shaves yet, hand-stropped each time.

Today was about face freeze! I enjoyed it last night and wanted more, so shaved with NSS Ice & Slice which builds up a lovely chill while shaving and proper freezes when you get to the cold rinse. Lovely! Deep freeze to follow: Alcolado.

Last night, I fancied that the Alcolado left me feeling pretty dry. Tonight, with the olive oil based shaving soap, I feel great - dry, but not stretched. Just right to go to bed on ...

Not a particularly comfortable shave. This Derby blade was fine yesterday but deteriorated rapidly today.
 
Boxing day

I'm back to work today and was at my Dad's last night so to save the rush for the bathroom this morning I had a shave in the evening.

Having a shave in a bathroom of a house of non-shavers (my dad has a beard) really tells. The mirror was on the opposite wall to the sink! Shaving involved lathering up and then wandering across the bathroom to shave in front of the mirror, then wandering back across to rinse the razor and re-lather.

Nevertheless a good shave was had. Now I'm back to work :-(

This razor is now 50 years old which just so happens to be same age as me today! I must say that the razor seems to have worn the years better than I have though.

First time using Juniper Berry soft soap, always lovely using NSS and skin feels "young" afterwards, which is just what I need.
