I used a 5mm x 25mm stainless grub screw and managed to tap the Valet head out in a minute or so, both the old handle and a 5mm thread fit very well. next stop gather some designs or plagiarize some photos take your pick, then commission off to Iain

That's a Valet VC1 Model C Set handle on a GEM. I love the simplicity of that handle - the same length, but thicker would be very functional and a great weight.
