In view of recent @Boycie83's comparison thread and Parker Variant PIF, here's the other side of that battle: Merkur Progress (short handle, i.e. 500).

Perhaps it would make a nice Christmas present, or perhaps you just want to revisit a familiar razor once again...

I do think that when the recipient tries the Progress for the first time, they will realise why this design still sells so well after 67 years with only tiny changes from the original. I absolutely love mine
