I have now tried the link on a different computer connected to the same network, and it works perfectly. I have no idea what is going on. Oh well, I will just remember to use this computer instead.

Are there any additional languages active on the "problem" computer? I read somewhere that eBay's highly technical measures can see that you accept "fr-FR" as a language and decide you're in France...

Yeah, browser settings, at work it get's blocked because everything is set to FR, at home my comp is set to EN-UK.

Definitely just English. I guess it must be the browser. I usually use opera, which has this problem on this computer, a macintosh, but not on a windows PC, but firefox seems unaffected on either OS. Bizarre. Iguess that as long as I know how to skirt the problem, knowing its cause is trivial. I am still interested though on an academic level
