Second shave and I am still enjoying it! I am a little surprised by the degree of play in the blade, but I don't seem to notice it in action.

I maybe got a little over confident and got a couple of weepers, but otherwise a lovely BBS very easily.

I like this razor!!! :)

Also, I found something today that I think may be the pre-curser to the cobra..... Maybe a proto-type? Could be worth a fortune! Pictured here next to the pass around cobra..... What do you think???

Oh.... And finally.... I LOVE the post shave balm so much I looked online to see how much it costs, but I can't find it on their website....... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Aye..This Play Thing with the Comb has Caused some Anguish Amongst Some Folks Since they Adapted it to Take a Wider Pro Super Blade..I Never Found any Issues with the Way it Shaves Though..Its a Weird Set Up..:)

Hi,

Been quiet for a few days as I've not got around to shaving! Hope to rectify that today!

I know unfortunately that I have to pass this beauty along, so @FrankieG if you PM me your address I'll get it posted off early next week.

I haven't used any of the blades that are with the razor, and I'll make sure there are enough left for the remaining recipients.

Thank you @MPH . PM sent.

Hi again,

Apologies for being so quiet, but things have been very busy for me of late.

I have had another couple of shaves and although I haven't analysed the razor too much I have thoroughly enjoyed using it. As written by others previously I had this impression of a nasty dangerous beast that I would need to tame, but it wasn't at all. I am used to the mongoose so maybe this helps, but I found it to be a pussy cat if treated with respect. I sensed it may bite if abused, but I never had any issues.I got some wonderful BBS shaves effortlessly.

I really do like this razor.... Maybe nearly as much as my mongoose which I never thought would happen. My only issue is that I have seen too many photos of REALLY poor quality ones and heard stories of poor customer service. Obviously it's great if you get a perfect one like Nico1970's, but I would hate to have to deal with this issue across the pond.

If i ever have some cash lying around when one comes up on the BST I have to admit I'd be tempted, and I haven't had any desires to buy a razor since taking stock of my Mongoose 18 months ago..... High praise indeed.

Many many thanks again @Nico1970. You are a true Gent!

Matt

P.s. - Cobra is boxed up and will be sent tomorrow.

I Saw an Earlier One the Other Day According to the EBay's Sellers Description & the Finish was Awful..It was Showing the Flaws & it Hadn't Been Polished Properly Before Plating..Nothing Near Martins Specimen..;)

It Went for Around £166.00..

I have a big problem buying razors from companies I don't like. From what I have heard the cobra guys need to take a bit of a look at themselves.

Damn shame they make such a bloody beautiful razor!!! :-(

Three Pass Shaving Routine..

Hot Water Prep & Massage with Argan Oil
Cobra Classic
Feather Pro Blade (3rd Shave)
Hans Baier Silver Tip
Haslinger Tallow Soap
Humphreys Witch Hazel

I had My 3rd Shave with the Cobra Classic Tonight that Martin Kindly Sent on this TSR Pass Around..I Went for the Money Button BBS Dolphin Smooth Shave..I am sitting here again with an All Over Dolphin Smooth BBS Result..I don't mean form North to South & form East to West neither..I mean in every Darn Direction..;)

This is My Last Shave with the Cobra before I Pass it On So here are Some Final Thoughts..The Cobra is by No Means a Blood Letting Monster..After having a few Shaves its More Like Middle of the Road in Terms of Aggressiveness..Around about a Schick Type G Injector with the Same Pro Blade..Its a Very Forgiving Shaver..Very Smooth..That said..Folks that Cant Handle or Not Used to a Crazy Sharp Pro Blade like this Might Confuse the Cobra as being an Aggressive Shaver because these Blades are Not for Everybody..They are a Lot of Blade for Sure..

A Lot of Folks that have Purchased the Cobra are Folks that will haven't Any Experience of Aggressive SEs or Injector Razors & Will be coming from a DE Background..There isn't a DE Out there that is as Aggressive as Some SEs or Some Injectors for that Matter..The Cobra is Well Balanced & Just so Beautifully Made..I Really Like this Razor a Lot..:p

I Haven't any Criticism of the Cobra except that its One Hell of a Price..Then Again So is a Head Nipping Wife that's Just Gonna Grow Old & Wrinkled..I wouldn't get No More than 4 Great Shaves out of a Feather Pro Blade the same as in any Razor..They Dull Very Fast & I Enjoy a Crazy Sharp Blade..

The Only Advice I can offer to Folks is this..If You Reckon a Crazy Sharp Blade is Not for You then the Cobra Might not be the Razor for You..I say this because using other Blades in this Razor is Just going to Take Away what the Cobra Actually is..You are as Well as Buying a Gillette Tech..I have used an Array of these Types of Blades & all they Will Do to the Cobra is turn it into Very Mild Razor..Of Course that's Fine & Dandy but I Just Don't see the Point of Buying a Porsche & then Detuning it..Thats Me Talkin Mind..o_O

Thank You Martin for the Opportunity to Have a Go with You're Cobra..Its Been a Privilege that I have Enjoyed..Don't Take this to Heart buts its 10 Times the Razor of You're OneBlade..;)

I Love You're Cobra..:D

Billy

Billy, you want to try the Ikon Tech, now that is aggressive!

I took the Cobra, having arrived all shiny and clean in the post this morning (thanks @MPH ), for its ‘first' shave. Being my first use of the Cobra I won't be comparing it to other razors, but simply give my initial impressions.

It's a beautiful looking piece of kit, with attractive lines and details. Loading a Feather Pro that I had set aside for the occasion (with a couple shaves already under its belt), was a little finicky, but I got there eventually without too much trouble.

I used my ‘foolproof' kit consisting of grated Valobra tallow soap and Edwin Jagger synthetic brush. The razor gives a lot of feedback and it was a piece of cake finding an efficient shaving angle. The only slight trouble I had was with the 3-sided handle that I found awkward to hold. Perhaps I just need a little more practice.

Three passes later (WTG/XTG/ATG) I had a drama-free and close shave, without a weeper in sight and no irritation whatsoever.

So first impressions are very good. A beautiful, efficient razor that gives a smooth and close shave. What's not to like?

2nd shave with the Cobra Classic today and again it was an effortless, smooth and close shave. At no point did I feel that it might bite me. For whatever reason I was expecting the Cobra to be more aggressive than it turned out to be, but I'm kinda glad that it is in the medium-aggressive camp as that's what seems to suit me best.

The Feather Pro blade is a very good match for this razor and offers a closer shave than it does in my SS Mongoose - in fact, that blade never worked well at all for me in the Mongoose. On the other hand a Feather Super in the Mongoose gives me a very similar result as a Pro in the Conbra does.

I'm still struggling a little getting a good grip on the 3-sided handle. It works well enough when going WTG on the cheeks, but it's another story when changing grip to go ATG in the neck area. I guess I prefer round and longer, knurled handles.

I'll use the razor for a couple more days and then clean it so I can pass it on. So @sc0tt if you PM me your address I'll start working on getting your package ready so there will be no delay :)
