Barbaros and Rocnel: Adjustable razor

pickled northern, enlarge the photo, all you will see in the case is the top plate, the base plate with safety bar, the handle, and the little metal leaf spring with holes in it. that is the entire razor.
The little leaf spring IS the adjuster mechanism. All it does is provide upward force against the razor blade and the top cap, so that it has proper tension when you adjust the gap to what you want and shave.
That's the whole magic of the perfecta razor, and the whole magic of the barbaros and rocnel razor. Just a simple spring pushing against the top plate and base plate at the same time. The issue with the Perfecta is that each time you change the blade, you have to reset the gap to how you like it. Rocnels adjustable gives you a very rough number ring to use, although they admit its basically a gimmick.

Anyone who has a discount store in their area can go in, buy some of those flexible metal hair barret thingies, get some tin snips, and go home and make a ton of these critters.
The only drawback to the design is that to have the original factory gap, you would need to machine a groove in the base plate that would allow the entire spring to compress far enough to allow that to happen.

We are getting ready gents.
They will undergo polishing process
