Morning gents, another two pass straight shave to report, without a cut this time! My 8th ever shave and I am starting to get there.
Today was the first outing for @Fox latest and greatest installment in the Wickhams 1912 line, Magnum. This stuff is lovely, really, really nice. This and Cashmere are my two favourite scents and I've had pretty much all of them, including LEs. Darron constantly delivers with sublime soaps, they just work for me and the scents he creates are great. He's a gent, always willing to help and he looks after his customers. We are lucky to have him
Back to the straights, I've gone a bit straight mad in the last week, I've had four new (vintage) straights arrive, including a Kamisori and have one more due to be delivered, the last one is an absolute stunner. If anyone out there has a replacement SRDP leather for the modular paddle strop, or a Kanayama strop they no longer want, please let me know! I have adverts up for both
Four days stubble to mow through last night and I picked up the trusty Le Grelot P.Hospital. First pass was OK, I managed to get around my whole face and neck. For some reason I had a little outstanding irritation from my previous shave. Nothing major, but a couple of bumps etc. I got through all of these, with only 3 or 4 weepers, but when I rinsed off, there was a bit of a sting in places and also a bit patchy too. Second pass was good, tidied most places up and ended with an acceptable/just above acceptable finish. In some places I'm nice and smooth, in others a little bit rough. Surprisingly, the chin and lip areas I'm getting on with OK now, they need work, but they are smooth, it's under the jawline that's the worst! I'll get there
Gear:
Le Grelot P.Hospital 5/8
Shavemac ATG Unique Bulb (Black Beauty)
Wickhams 1912 Magnum
Thayers Aloe WH
