27/3/18

Brush - Yaqi Fan Tux
Soap - Wilkinson Sword Shaving Stick
Razor - Yaqi OC
Blade - Voskhod
AS - Benjamins Bay Rum

I've read elsewhere on this forum, The WS, Speick & Palmolive sticks may possibly share the same base and even though I don't whether that is true in performance they do seem to have some similarities. The WS seems to be a pretty decent soap albeit not an exceptional one but the bright blue colour does make it somewhat special for aesthetics at least!

I think it is time to retire this blade, the shaves are not so comfortable and the finish not as perfect. It has been fun pushing the blade as I have, I wanted to get to 20 but I think that would lead to issues, 16 is a good number to finsh at. I wouldn't fancy pushing a modern blade to double figures though.

A good lather today albeit a little thicker than I like, a good shave albeit not as close all over as usual. One of my first creams and still as good as the day I bought it back in 2013.

Mike @mpf9ret did recommend to start with a fresh blade so I did. I used the mid setting and got a very comfortable and close result, in fact squeaky close. The sweet spot for this razor was found really easy. It's very manoeuvrable and I never felt at any risk of damage.

Very impressed by this razor Tom White has produced and really looking forward to future shaves.

A very close shave from this great little razor.
It's not your normal injector, one hundred percent concentration is required at all times but the reward is worth it and unlike other injectors the risk element makes it fun to use.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Razor: The Silver Ringer, Hollow Ground with Custom Abalone Scales
Soap: Nuavia Blu
Brush: Dogwood Custom with 26mm TGN High Mountain White. (On Loan @Acer89 )
Post: Thayers Witch Hazel
EDT: Gucci Guilty pour home.

First use of this razor and I am extremely happy with the result.
The soap and brush combo was a match made in heaven.
I don't know if it is me but I think the High Mountain White requires more soaking than any other badger I have tried?

Enjoy your shaves! :)

Good prep, soap lathered very well, a classic blade, but a little razor burn on the neck. Must concentrate!

Saturday-Sunday- Monday
Rexell Menthol shaving foam
Gillette Contour cart
Penhaligon's Opus 1870 ASB

An unexpected couple of days in hospital and this kit had to do. Pen's ASB at least brought a little touch of luxury.

Tuesday
Proraso Eucalyptus & Menthol
Stirling 2-Band Synthetic
RazoRock Black Hawk
Feather ProGuard (1)
Aloe Vera Gel

Much more enjoyable shave today :)

Hopefully on the mend now :)

At least you didn't have to suffer Hattie Jacques wielding a blunt Bic disposable

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + Bulldog face wash and Proraso Green
Razor: Gillette Aristocrat - Aluminium handle
Blade: Wilkinson Sword - England (#6)
Brush: Maseto 24mm 2 band finest
Soap: Valobra Menthol
Bowl: Korium
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Bulldog balm

First shave with the Gillette Aristocrat, and very nice it is too. It is very light and the first few strokes felt a bit awkward, but by the end of the 3 pass shave it was flying around my face. Being light made it very nimble, I like heavy razors but this worked well.
