S.O.T.D. Saturday 7th October to Friday 13th October 2017

Mon 9th October
Omega 11126 boar
Stirling Baker Street
Merkur LH Progress
Lab Blue [ 3 ]
Alum Rub/ Rinse off
Tuff Green A/S Lotion

After quite a long absence revisited DE Shaving, using the Progress which I have always liked. Was quite surprised at how it felt in my hand as having now got used to SE/Injectors, I did not find getting the Shaving Angle right intuitive. I also noted the disparity in the area covered by the head of the DE against an AC/Se Razor.

I finished the Shave without mishap. To be honest the finish was not as good as those I now get with my SE/Injectors these days, nor did I enjoy the Shave as much. Looks like I might be getting rid of some DEs in the future along with some ER 1912s [ too many of those].

Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet soap
Simpsons Classic 1 “Best Badger”
T.R Cadman & Son 5/8”
Thayers witch hazel
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet EdT

A nice close shave today but slightly disappointed about the Pens soap, it's actual performance is better than expected (on par with DR Harris I would say) but what I can only assume is the strong perfume gave me a prickly face today, tingly during the shave and hot/itchy post shave... Bugger :(

Razorock 400 (alu)
Fatip Testina Gentile
Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Mitchells Wool Fat
Thayers Rose, Myrsol Emulsion & Blue

The best shave of that blade so far and an irritation free shave. No issues at all with that one. I still don't like the blade but next time I will try it with the Fatip for all three uses. Mitchells was great as always though it has shrunk a little since my last use and when I started to load it unstuck itself so it was little bugger to load. When it dries I'll grate it. Finished off double dipping in Myrsol. Lovely start to the week.

Pre: Neutrogena Original Formula Facial Bar
Razor: Gillette Aristocrat #21
Blade: NOS Boots - Made In England (3)
Soap: Monsavon
Brush: Maggard 24mm Synthetic
Post: Haslinger Sandalwood Balm

A blade and soap, both of which are largely off the radar, gave a fantastic shave this morning. DFS bordering on BBS in 2 passes. My face still fells good 14+ hours later.
I find Monsavon soap performs as good or better than any of my other soaps and creams that can cost 10 times the price. Bargain products like Palmolive, Omega and Monsavon are beginning to change my thinking about the utility of expensive produces.

Blade: Gem SS #4
Razor: 1912
Brush: Maseto 26mm Silvertip Barber Handle
Scuttle: Giles Shaving Co.
Soap: L&L Harmony.
Post: Thayers and Bulldog balm.
EDT: Izzey Myake

I had nearly three days growth and plenty of time in the early hours of this morning to contend with it, so my weapon of choice this morning was the amazing 1912.
Words cannot describe my feelings for this razor. It is that good YMMV but I challenge anyone to say that they have had bad shaves using one.
A beautiful 3 pass BBS shave with no touch ups required.
Now the soap really is a top performer. An American artisan that really knows his stuff. Cushion is fabulous but the slickness and post shave feel is out of this world.
A sublime warm scent was released with the scuttle and a shiny scrumptious lather was soon created by the fabulous MS 26mm.
Finishing off with the miracle Thayer Witch hazel, great bang for buck balm and the sublime smelling Izzey Myake I am good to go to Cardiff this evening to watch Wales in the final world cup qualifying game. Happy Days!

Enjoy your evening :)

Supply (••) - Personna (#2) - BC Synth - Club Cola

Second use of the Supply since it became mine. Did a great job mowing down a few day's growth. Both times I've had a bit of tingling post-shave but nothing lasting. Two passes did enough of a job for me today! Club Cola smells great and the balm really carries the scent! (@micheal)

Roll up one and all!

Looking forward to your opinion of the B-20s in the Supply.

Micheal
