Shave of the day Saturday 12th August- Fri 18th August 2017

Thursday 17th

Proraso Red Pre Shave
WSP Spring Rain
Yaqi brush
Rockwell 6c plate 3
Wilkinson (vintage) (1)
Peppermint witch hazel mixture
Proraso Green ASL
Yardley 1770

Two passes XTG (opposite directions)and ATG
My second use of this soap sample hasmade my mind up on buy some. I reallylike the lemon scent and it's a goodperforming soap.
A fresh vintage Wilkinson blade is always a pleasure to load into the Rockwell. A very smooth pairing indeed.
No irritation at all and zero sting from the Proraso ASL.
A few sprays of Yardley 1770 roundedmy shave off for a mellow relaxingevening.

Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready 1912 Bathroom (short handle)
Blade: ER Corrux NOS (10)
Brush: EverShave Quartermoon Fan
Soap: DR Harris Marlborough Stick
Aftershave: Astral Cream (soft)
EDP: Miller Harris Terre D'Iris

This razor is a bog standard ER 1912 but this short travel handle is unusual in fact the only one I have ever seen, it is definitely an original handle and not a bathroom model handle that has been shortened. I have often wondered just how short of space you need to be for half an inch of aluminium razor handle to make a difference!

Regards
Dick.

Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready 1912 Bakelite Handle
Blade: ER Corrux NOS (11)
Brush: Vie Long / Tuxedo
Cream : RSC
Aftershave: Simple Moisteriser
EDP : Dior Homme Intense

Another bog standard 1912 with an unusual handle, I suspect the Bakelite handles were a cost cutting exercise.

The NOS blade shows no sign of worsening but it does need just a very few laps on Feox each day to keep the edge sharp; whilst it is smoother stropped on plain leather alone it just isn't quite sharp enough.

Regards
Dick.

Friday's shave :)

Pre-shave - Shower and face wash with Wright's Cold Tar Soap, followed by Warm water and Village Barbour Pre-shave Oil.
Razor - Feather AS-D2
Blade - Feather Hi-Stainless (2)
Soap - Executive Shaving - Natural Shave Cream.
Brush - Simpsons Duke 2 Best Badger.
Bowl - Little Wren Pottery shave bowl.
Post shave - OSP Eucalyptus and Menthol Aftershave Tonic, followed by Ibiza-Aloe Aloe Vera Gel.

Great shave, forgot how mild the AS-D2 can be, perhaps not as efficient as the ATT M1 (YMMV).

Great to see the TSR online again, long may she sail :)

All the best,

Chris

Omega 40033
Gibbs No 17
Gillette Silver Blue
Arko
Thayers Rose & Old Spice Whitewater

Very simple today, a face lather as opposed to a bowl. The Omega is a great face lathering brush, Arko although divisive is a very good soap for me. Never fail to get a good lather from it. Great shave by the Gibbs, the Gillette is an alright blade which has grown on me through the uses.

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso Green
Razor: OneBlade Core v2
Blade: Feather FHS (#2)
Brush: Maseto 30mm 2 band finest fan shape
Soap: Valobra Menthol
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Alcolado Glacial

Second shave with OneBlade Core v2, I am really very impressed with this razor after my second shave. The v1 version did leave me with mixed feelings, while I was very impressed with how mild the razor was it took a good effort to get a close shave, the v2 version has all the benefits and seems much easier to get a nice close shave with than the v1.

First use of the Valobra croap, not very menthol but a fantastic lather, very easy to lather and very slick. If the Valobra was not very menthol the Alcolado was the opposite, a super chilled face to finish off with. A very satisfactory shave and now OneBlade have fixed the Core with a v2 version I am more than happy with the Core.
