New Mühle stainless steel razor 'Rocca'

golly gee, it does look nice. nicer then most of the stainless razors that are available. price is not that much better then some of the competition, but just looking at the photos.... the quality of finish and machining actually make it look worth the asking price.
I do know of a couple of people on the forum who have not received one quite as nice as this one. They've complained of machine marks and staining. It looks like it's still the luck of the draw.

people have even gotten 300 dollar artisan steel razors that came with machine marks and poor finish. Ive even heard a rumor that some of the rocnel stainless razors come with machining marks and they keep selling.

I've some lovely handles to go with that which will make it look better than the ones on offer. Slightly disappointed they didn't offer full stainless. Having to add a handle is the thing stopping my buying to be honest.

I like the way the black handle feels. I did not choose the birch handle because black is classic, and I feared the birch would feel too smooth. Not sure how that holds up in the long term as well.

I had two shaves with it now. It is a good razor.

The black handle works well for me, excellent grip. I understand that the birch also has excellent grip, even when wet - same idea as Scandinavian hunting knives e.g. http://www.marttiini.fi/The-right-knife-for-the-right-use/A-firm-grip-at-all-times

That said, I would not swap the black for the birch - as you said, a classic look. I can't wait for the DLC version to come out. Hopefully Ian T at the Gentleman's Groom Room (Dundee) can lay his hands on one.

Noticed on the shaving.ie website, the release date has been put back to the end of February? Are Muhle having issues with production?

I emailed Muhle and the response noted that they were hoping for the R96 Jet to be released in early February.

Sorry for the delay, must have missed the notification. Thanks for the info.

I really like the look of it and it seems to be getting favorable reviews.
I've been buying razors which are getting more and more aggressive and I don't think they are doing me any favors.
I'm looking at this and maybe the Hone.

I am really enjoying the Muhle Roca - great shaves every time. For me (and I know that YMMV) it shaves between an ATT M1 and R1. The Roca is very efficient - most days a 2 pass does the business. I have tried with Astra SP and Gillette Silver Blue blades.

I have not tried the Hone, so cannot offer any comparisons. Just had a look at the Hone web site - hell, they look good!

The Rocca sounds like what I'm looking for.
The Hone is very cool. I've been tempted for a while....must resist, must resist.:p
