My Wolfman stand transited through Chicago on Dec 7 and I still haven't received it either. I know Chicago Sorting Center had a rash of postal thefts last year (mainly Apple products). Hopefully we get them soon.

I had a shaving brush get lost there last year. We initiated a claim. The postal inspector there told the brushmaker that they cant get people to hire on, and we are lucky that anything makes it through there at all.

It used to be one of the world's great cities.

Picked up one of Brad Sears' brushes last night when he dropped a few onto his ready-made section.
I went 'cheap' and got this faux horn one w/ Muhle Silvertip synthetic one as I really like the handle shape.
It was reduced from $90-something to $55.

It is a pleasing shape.

To me 'mild but efficient' means that you don't feel as if the razor will never 'bite' you so you can move it around w/out being overly careful - but even so it's capable of giving you a very close shave in just a few passes.

I'd be lying if I said I remember the settings on the Mer-/Progress but on a Gillette Slim, if that helps, probably around a 6-7.
